29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?
30 For we know him who has said, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. And again, The Lord will judge his people.
40 God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us.
18 And for about forty years he cared for them in the wilderness.
15 Make us glad according to the days wherein you have afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil.
14 Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

17 Obey those who rule over you, and submit to them, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.
13 Do not withhold correction from a child, for if you beat him with the rod, he will not die.
14 You shall beat him with the rod, and deliver his soul from hell.
18 Chasten your son while there is hope, and do not spare for his crying.
14 For all day long I have been plagued, and chastened every morning.

20 For what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer for it, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God.
24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,
25 choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin,
