11For observe this very thing, that you sorrowed in a godly manner, what diligence it produced in you, yes, what clearing of yourselves, yes, what indignation, yes, what fear, yes, what vehement desire, yes, what zeal, yes, what vindication! In all things you have proved yourselves to be clear in this matter.
12Therefore, though I wrote to you, I did not do it for the sake of him who had done the wrong, nor for the sake of him who suffered wrong, but that our care for you in the sight of God might appear to you.
2And it shall be, if the wicked man deserves to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down and be beaten in his presence, according to his fault, by a number of strokes.
3Forty stripes he may give him, and not exceed; lest, if he should exceed and beat him with many more stripes, then your brother should appear vile to you.
13For in what way were you inferior to other churches, except that I myself was not burdensome to you? Forgive me this wrong.
2And you are arrogant, and have not rather mourned, so that he who has done this deed might be removed from among you.
3For I indeed, as absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged him who has done this deed, as though I were present.
2I told you before, and foretell now, as if I were present the second time; and being absent now I write to those who have sinned in the past, and to all others, that if I come again, I will not spare:
13For I do not mean that others should be relieved and you burdened;
19A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment; for if you deliver him, yet you must do it again.
1Brothers, if a man is caught in a fault, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in the spirit of meekness; considering yourself, lest you also be tempted.
2Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

16To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. And who is adequate for these things?
