And the Syrians set themselves in array against David, and fought with him. 18 And the Syrians fled before Israel; and David killed the men of seven hundred chariots of the Syrians, and forty thousand horsemen, and struck down Shobach the captain of their host, who died there. 19 And when all the kings that were servants to Hadarezer saw that they were defeated before Israel, they made peace with Israel, and served them. - 2 Sam 8:1-9 : 1 And after this, it came to pass that David defeated the Philistines and subdued them; and David took Methegammah out of the hand of the Philistines. 2 And he defeated Moab and measured them with a line, casting them down to the ground; with two lines he measured to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive. And so the Moabites became David's servants and brought gifts. 3 David also defeated Hadadezer, the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his territory at the river Euphrates. 4 And David took from him a thousand chariots, seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand foot soldiers; and David hamstrung all the chariot horses, but reserved enough for a hundred chariots. 5 And when the Syrians of Damascus came to aid Hadadezer king of Zobah, David struck down twenty-two thousand men of the Syrians. 6 Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus, and the Syrians became David's servants and brought gifts. And the LORD preserved David wherever he went. 7 And David took the golden shields that were on the servants of Hadadezer and brought them to Jerusalem. 8 And from Betah and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took a great amount of bronze. 9 When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had defeated all the army of Hadadezer, 10 Then Toi sent Joram his son to king David, to greet him and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and defeated him, for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. And Joram brought with him articles of silver, articles of gold, and articles of bronze. 11 These king David also dedicated to the LORD, along with the silver and gold that he had dedicated from all the nations he had subdued: 12 From Syria, Moab, the children of Ammon, the Philistines, Amalek, and from the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah. 13 And David made a name for himself when he returned from striking down eighteen thousand men of the Syrians in the Valley of Salt. 14 And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom he put garrisons, and all the Edomites became David's servants. - Dan 3:19-28 : 19 Then Nebuchadnezzar was full of fury, and the expression on his face changed towards Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; he spoke and commanded that they heat the furnace seven times more than it was usually heated. 20 And he commanded the most mighty men in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace. 21 Then these men were bound in their coats, their trousers, their turbans, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. 22 Therefore, because the king's command was urgent and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. 23 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. 24 Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished, and rose in haste and spoke, saying to his counselors, Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said to the king, True, O king. 25 He answered and said, Look, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they are not hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God. 26 Then Nebuchadnezzar went near the mouth of the burning fiery furnace and spoke, saying, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out, and come here. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came out from the midst of the fire. 27 And the princes, governors, captains, and the king's counselors gathered together, and they saw these men on whose bodies the fire had no power; the hair of their head was not singed, nor were their coats changed, nor had the smell of fire passed on them. 28 Nebuchadnezzar spoke, saying, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent His angel and delivered His servants who trusted in Him, and they have frustrated the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they should not serve nor worship any god except their own God.
- 2 Cor 12:9-9 : 9 And He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you; for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore, I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

- 2 Kgs 20:7-9 : 7 And Isaiah said, Take a lump of figs. And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered. 8 And Hezekiah said to Isaiah, What shall be the sign that the LORD will heal me, and that I shall go up to the house of the LORD on the third day? 9 And Isaiah said, This shall be the sign to you from the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that He has spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees? 10 And Hezekiah answered, It is an easy thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees; no, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees. 11 And Isaiah the prophet cried to the LORD, and He brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down on the dial of Ahaz.
- 2 Chr 14:11-14 : 11 And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, 'LORD, it is nothing for You to help, whether with many, or with those who have no power; help us, O LORD our God, for we rest on You, and in Your name we go against this multitude. O LORD, You are our God; let not man prevail against You.' 12 So the LORD struck the Ethiopians before Asa and before Judah, and the Ethiopians fled. 13 And Asa and the people who were with him pursued them to Gerar, and the Ethiopians were overthrown, that they could not recover, for they were destroyed before the LORD and before His army; and they carried away very much spoil. 14 And they struck all the cities around Gerar, for the fear of the LORD came upon them, and they plundered all the cities, for there was very much spoil in them.
- 2 Chr 16:1-9 : 1 In the thirty-sixth year of the reign of Asa, Baasha king of Israel came against Judah and built Ramah, to prevent anyone from going out or coming in to Asa king of Judah. 2 Then Asa brought out silver and gold from the treasures of the house of the LORD and of the king's house, and sent them to Benhadad king of Syria, who lived at Damascus, saying, 3 There is a treaty between me and you, as there was between my father and your father: behold, I have sent you silver and gold; go, break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel, so that he may depart from me. 4 And Benhadad listened to King Asa, and sent the commanders of his armies against the cities of Israel; and they struck down Ijon, Dan, Abelmaim, and all the store cities of Naphtali. 5 And it happened, when Baasha heard it, that he stopped building Ramah, and ceased his work. 6 Then King Asa took all Judah; and they carried away the stones of Ramah and the timber thereof, with which Baasha was building; and he built with them Geba and Mizpah. 7 And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said to him, Because you have relied on the king of Syria, and not relied on the LORD your God, therefore the army of the king of Syria has escaped from your hand. 8 Were not the Ethiopians and the Lubims a large army, with very many chariots and horsemen? yet, because you relied on the LORD, he delivered them into your hand. 9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein you have done foolishly; therefore from now on you shall have wars.
- 2 Chr 20:6-9 : 6 And said, O LORD God of our fathers, are You not God in heaven? And do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations? And in Your hand is there not power and might, so that no one is able to withstand You? 7 Are You not our God, who drove out the inhabitants of this land before Your people Israel, and gave it to the descendants of Abraham Your friend forever? 8 And they dwelt in it, and have built You a sanctuary in it for Your name, saying, 9 If disaster comes upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we will stand before this house and in Your presence (for Your name is in this house) and cry out to You in our affliction, and You will hear and save us. 10 And now, see, the children of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, whom You would not let Israel invade when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them and did not destroy them; 11 See, how they repay us, to come to cast us out of Your possession, which You have given us to inherit. 12 O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great company that comes against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You. 13 And all Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children. 14 Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, in the midst of the assembly; 15 And he said, Listen, all Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat, Thus says the LORD to you: Do not be afraid or dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God's. 16 Tomorrow go down against them. See, they come up by the ascent of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the brook before the wilderness of Jeruel. 17 You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the LORD is with you. 18 And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshiping the LORD. 19 And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with a loud voice on high. 20 And they rose early in the morning and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa. And as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the LORD your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper. 21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the LORD, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying, Praise the LORD, for His mercy endures forever. 22 Now when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the children of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. 23 For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another. 24 So when Judah came to a place overlooking the wilderness, they looked toward the multitude; and behold, they were dead bodies fallen on the earth; no one had escaped. 25 When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away their spoil, they found among them an abundance of valuables on the dead bodies, and precious jewelry, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away; and they were three days gathering the spoil because there was so much.
- 2 Chr 32:20-22 : 20 And for this reason, Hezekiah the king and the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz prayed and cried to heaven. 21 And the LORD sent an angel who destroyed all the mighty men of valor and the leaders and captains in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with shame on his face to his own land. And when he entered the house of his god, his own sons killed him with the sword there. 22 Thus the LORD saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib king of Assyria and from the hand of all others, and guided them on every side.

- Judg 15:14-20 : 14 When he came to Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him; and the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and the ropes on his arms became like flax burned with fire, and his bonds loosed from his hands. 15 He found a new jawbone of a donkey, reached out his hand, took it, and killed a thousand men with it. 16 Samson said, With the jawbone of a donkey, heaps upon heaps, with the jaw of a donkey have I killed a thousand men. 17 When he finished speaking, he threw the jawbone out of his hand, and called that place Ramathlehi. 18 He was very thirsty and called on the LORD, and said, You have given this great deliverance into the hand of your servant: and now shall I die of thirst, and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised? 19 But God split a hollow place in the jaw, and water came out; and when he drank, his spirit revived: therefore he called it Enhakkore, which is in Lehi to this day. 20 He judged Israel in the days of the Philistines for twenty years.
- Judg 16:19-30 : 19 Then she lulled him to sleep on her knees, and called for a man and had him shave off the seven locks of his head. Then she began to torment him, and his strength left him. 20 She said, "The Philistines are upon you, Samson!" So he awoke from his sleep, and said, "I will go out as before, at other times, and shake myself free." But he did not know that the LORD had departed from him. 21 Then the Philistines took him and put out his eyes and brought him down to Gaza. They bound him with bronze chains, and he became a grinder in the prison. 22 However, the hair of his head began to grow again after it had been shaven. 23 Now the lords of the Philistines gathered to offer a great sacrifice to Dagon their god, and to rejoice. And they said, "Our god has delivered Samson our enemy into our hand." 24 When the people saw him, they praised their god, saying, "Our god has delivered into our hands our enemy, the destroyer of our land, and the one who multiplied our dead." 25 So it happened, when their hearts were merry, that they said, "Call for Samson, that he may perform for us." So they called for Samson from the prison, and he performed for them, and they stationed him between the pillars. 26 Then Samson said to the lad who held him by the hand, "Let me feel the pillars which support the temple, so that I can lean on them." 27 Now the temple was full of men and women. All the lords of the Philistines were there—about three thousand men and women on the roof, watching while Samson performed. 28 Then Samson called to the LORD, saying, "O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray! Strengthen me, I pray, just this once, O God, that I may with one blow take vengeance on the Philistines for my two eyes." 29 And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars which supported the temple, and he braced himself against them, one on his right and the other on his left. 30 Then Samson said, "Let me die with the Philistines!" And he pushed with all his might, and the temple fell on the lords and all the people who were in it. So the dead that he killed at his death were more than he had killed in his life.
- 1 Sam 14:13-15 : 13 Jonathan climbed up on his hands and feet, and his armorbearer after him, and they fell before Jonathan, and his armorbearer killed them after him. 14 That first slaughter which Jonathan and his armorbearer made was about twenty men within about half an acre of land, which a yoke of oxen might plow. 15 There was trembling in the camp, in the field, and among all the people.
