If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.” 15 Then Peter spoke up and said to him, “Explain this parable to us.” 16 Jesus replied, “Are you still without understanding?” 17 Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then is expelled into the latrine? 18 But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these defile a person. 19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual immoralities, thefts, false testimonies, and slanders. 20 These are the things that defile a person, but eating with unwashed hands does not defile them.”
