19Why then did you not obey the LORD? Why did you rush for the spoil and do what is evil in the eyes of the LORD?
30Saul replied, 'I have sinned, but please honor me now in front of the elders of my people and before Israel. Come back with me so that I may worship the LORD your God.'
31So Samuel went back with Saul, and Saul worshiped the LORD.
32Then Samuel said, 'Bring Agag, king of Amalek, to me.' Agag came to him cheerfully, thinking, 'Surely the bitterness of death is past.'
33Samuel said, 'As your sword has made women childless, so will your mother be childless among women.' Then Samuel cut Agag to pieces before the LORD at Gilgal.
34Then Samuel went to Ramah, but Saul went up to his home in Gibeah of Saul.
21But the people took sheep and cattle from the plunder—the best of what was devoted to destruction—to sacrifice to the LORD your God in Gilgal.
22Then Samuel said, 'Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.'
24Then Saul said to Samuel, 'I have sinned. I disregarded the command of the LORD and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice.'
17The LORD has done as he spoke through me. He has torn the kingdom out of your hand and given it to your neighbor, to David.
18Because you did not obey the voice of the LORD or carry out his fierce wrath against Amalek, the LORD has done this to you today.

15Samuel said to Saul, "Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?" Saul answered, "I am deeply distressed. The Philistines are waging war against me, and God has turned away from me. He no longer answers me, not by prophets or by dreams. Therefore, I have called upon you to tell me what I should do."
