2 He was a devout man and feared God along with all his household. He gave many alms to the people and prayed to God continually.

23 So Peter invited them in as his guests. The next day he got up and went with them. Some of the brothers from Joppa accompanied him.
24 The following day they entered Caesarea. Cornelius was waiting for them and had called together his relatives and close friends.
25 When Peter entered, Cornelius met him, fell at his feet, and worshiped him.
26 But Peter lifted him up and said, 'Stand up! I myself am also a man.'
27 While talking with him, Peter went inside and found many people gathered.
28 He said to them, 'You know it is forbidden for a Jewish man to associate with or visit a foreigner, but God has shown me that I must not call any person common or unclean.'
29 That is why I came without objection when I was sent for. Now may I ask why you sent for me?
30 Cornelius replied, 'Four days ago at this very hour, I was fasting and praying in my house at three in the afternoon, and suddenly a man in shining clothes stood before me.
31 He said, 'Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your acts of charity have been remembered before God.
32 Send someone to Joppa and summon Simon, who is called Peter. He is staying as a guest in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the sea.'
33 So immediately, I sent for you, and you were kind enough to come. Now we are all here in the presence of God to listen to everything the Lord has commanded you to say.
34 Then Peter began to speak: 'Now I truly understand that God does not show favoritism,
35 but in every nation, the one who fears Him and does what is right is acceptable to Him.
5 When Jesus entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him,
11 Just then, three men who had been sent to me from Caesarea arrived at the house where I was staying.
12 The Spirit told me to go with them without hesitation. These six brothers also went with me, and we entered the man's house.
13 He told us how he had seen an angel standing in his house and saying, ‘Send men to Joppa and bring back Simon, who is called Peter.

6 So Jesus went with them. When He was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to say to Him, 'Lord, do not trouble Yourself, for I am not worthy to have You come under my roof.'
9 'For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and I tell my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.'

4 But Peter began to explain it to them step by step, saying:
5 'I was in the city of Joppa praying, and I saw in a trance a vision: something like a large sheet being let down from heaven by its four corners, and it came down to me.
10 But glory, honor, and peace for everyone who does good, first for the Jew, then also for the Gentile.
24 For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a large number of people were added to the Lord.
