15 So I turned and went down the mountain while it was ablaze with fire, with the two tablets of the covenant in my hands.
18 Even when they made a molten calf for themselves and said, 'This is your god who brought you out of Egypt,' and they committed terrible blasphemies,
20 The LORD was very angry with Aaron, and he was ready to destroy him. But I prayed for Aaron at that time as well.
21 Then I took the sinful thing you had made—the calf—and burned it in the fire. I crushed it, grinding it into fine dust, and threw the dust into the stream that flows down from the mountain.
22 You continued to provoke the LORD to anger at Taberah, at Massah, and at Kibroth Hattaavah.
19 As Moses approached the camp and saw the calf and the dancing, his anger burned, and he threw the tablets out of his hands, shattering them at the foot of the mountain.
20 He took the calf they had made, burned it with fire, ground it to powder, scattered it on the water, and made the Israelites drink it.
21 Then Moses said to Aaron, "What did these people do to you that you led them into such a great sin?"
23 They said to me, 'Make gods for us who will go before us. As for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of Egypt, we do not know what has happened to him.'
24 So I told them, 'Whoever has any gold jewelry, take it off.' They gave it to me, and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf!"
25 Moses saw that the people were out of control—for Aaron had let them get out of control, to the mockery of their enemies.

9 You have done more evil than all who came before you. You have gone and made other gods and cast images to provoke Me to anger, and you have turned your back on Me.
17 Make sure there is no man or woman, family, or tribe among you whose heart turns away today from the LORD our God to go and serve the gods of these nations. Make sure there is no root among you that produces poisonous and bitter fruit.
4 Do not turn to idols or make gods of cast metal for yourselves. I am the LORD your God.
24 You have been rebellious against the LORD from the day I first knew you.
31 So Moses returned to the LORD and said, "Oh, this people have committed a great sin; they have made themselves gods of gold.
35 Then the LORD struck the people with a plague, because of what they had done with the calf Aaron had made.
22 If you unintentionally fail to follow any of these commands that the Lord has instructed to Moses—
16 They abandoned all the commandments of the Lord their God. They made for themselves two cast idols in the form of calves, made an Asherah pole, worshiped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.
15 So be very careful for your own lives, because you did not see any form on the day the LORD spoke to you at Horeb from the midst of the fire.
16 If you violate the covenant of the LORD your God, which He commanded you, and go and serve other gods and bow down to them, the anger of the LORD will burn against you, and you will quickly perish from the good land He has given you.
12 They served idols, about which the Lord had said to them, 'You shall not do this thing.'
7 And I said to them, 'Each of you, get rid of the detestable things your eyes are set on, and do not defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt. I am the LORD your God.'
1 At that time, the LORD said to me, 'Cut two stone tablets like the first ones, and come up to Me on the mountain, and make yourself a wooden ark.'
3 Your eyes have seen what the LORD did at Baal Peor; for every man who followed Baal Peor, the LORD your God destroyed him from among you.
18 The men who violated my covenant and did not keep the terms of the covenant they made before me, I will treat like the calf they cut in two and walked between its pieces.
5 At that time, I stood between the LORD and you to declare His word to you, because you were afraid of the fire and did not go up the mountain. He said:
17 You also took the fine jewelry made of gold and silver that I had given you, and you made male idols for yourself and engaged in prostitution with them.
16 This is what you asked of the LORD your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly, saying, 'Let us not hear the voice of the LORD our God or see this great fire anymore, or we will die.'
16 But they, our ancestors, acted arrogantly. They stiffened their necks and did not obey Your commandments.
6 'But if you or your descendants turn away from Me and do not keep My commands and statutes that I have given you, and you go and serve other gods and bow down to them,
