    12 They abandoned the LORD, the God of their ancestors, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt. They followed other gods, the gods of the peoples around them. They bowed down to them and provoked the LORD to anger.

  • 10 They have turned back to the sins of their ancestors, who refused to listen to my words. They have followed other gods to serve them. The house of Israel and the house of Judah have violated my covenant, which I made with their ancestors.

  • 17 They sacrificed to demons, not to God, to gods they had not known, to new gods that had recently appeared, gods your ancestors did not fear.

  • 19 But if you turn away and forsake the statutes and commandments I have set before you, and go and serve other gods and worship them,

  • 12 Because they served them before their idols and caused the house of Israel to stumble into iniquity, therefore I have lifted My hand against them, declares the Lord GOD, and they shall bear their punishment.

  • 6 Do not follow other gods to serve them or worship them. Do not provoke me to anger with the works of your hands; then I will not bring disaster upon you.'

  • 4 Do not turn to idols or make gods of cast metal for yourselves. I am the LORD your God.

  • 12 This happened because they did not obey the voice of the LORD their God but violated His covenant—all that Moses, the servant of the LORD, had commanded. They neither listened nor carried it out.

  • 8 Just as they have done to me from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day—forsaking me and serving other gods—so they are also doing to you.

  • 17 Do not make any molten gods for yourselves.

  • 7 Do not associate with these nations that remain among you. Do not invoke the names of their gods, swear by them, serve them, or bow down to them.

  • 19 But even Judah did not keep the commandments of the Lord their God. They followed the practices of Israel as the Israelites had done.

  • 9 And the people will answer, 'Because they abandoned the LORD their God, who brought their ancestors out of Egypt, and they embraced other gods, worshiped them, and served them. That is why the LORD brought all this disaster on them.'

  • 33 They must not live in your land, or they will cause you to sin against me, because if you worship their gods, it will become a snare to you.

  • 16 I will pronounce My judgments against them for all their evil in forsaking Me, burning incense to other gods, and worshiping the works of their own hands.
