    6"I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.

    7You shall have no other gods before Me.

  • 13I will uproot your Asherah poles from among you and demolish your cities.

    17Then the LORD’s anger will burn against you, and He will shut up the heavens so that there will be no rain, and the land will yield no produce. Then you will soon perish from the good land the LORD is giving you.

    15Be careful not to make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, for when they prostitute themselves to their gods and sacrifice to them, they will invite you, and you will eat from their sacrifices.

  • 13Therefore, I will hurl you out of this land into a land you and your ancestors have not known. There you will serve other gods day and night, for I will show you no favor.'

  • 9You have done more evil than all who came before you. You have gone and made other gods and cast images to provoke Me to anger, and you have turned your back on Me.

  • 23Be careful not to forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which He made with you, and not to make for yourselves a carved image in the form of anything He has forbidden you.

  • 11Then you are to answer them: 'It is because your ancestors abandoned Me,' declares the LORD, 'and followed other gods, served them, and worshiped them. But they abandoned Me and did not keep My law.

  • 10And I said to you, ‘I am the Lord your God; do not fear the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live.’ But you did not listen to my voice.
