8 They have turned aside quickly from the way I commanded them. They have made for themselves a molten calf, bowed down to it, sacrificed to it, and said, 'These are your gods, Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.'
9 The LORD also said to Moses, "I have seen these people, and behold, they are a stiff-necked people."
1 When the people saw that Moses delayed in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said to him, "Get up, make for us gods who will go before us, because this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has happened to him."

22 Moses returned to the Lord and said, "Lord, why have you brought trouble on this people? Why did you send me?"
11 But Moses sought the favor of the LORD his God and said, "LORD, why does your anger burn against your people, whom you brought out of Egypt with great power and a mighty hand?"
12 Why should the Egyptians say, 'He brought them out with evil intent, to kill them in the mountains and to wipe them off the face of the earth'? Turn from your burning anger and relent concerning this disaster against your people.
18 Even when they made a molten calf for themselves and said, 'This is your god who brought you out of Egypt,' and they committed terrible blasphemies,
32 But now, if You will forgive their sin, please do so. But if not, then blot me out of the book You have written."
33 The LORD replied to Moses, "Whoever has sinned against Me, I will blot out of My book.
35 Then the LORD struck the people with a plague, because of what they had done with the calf Aaron had made.
40 They said to Aaron, 'Make us gods who will lead us, for we do not know what has happened to this Moses, who brought us out of the land of Egypt.'
41 At that time, they made a calf and offered a sacrifice to the idol, rejoicing in the works of their hands.
7 The people came to Moses and said, 'We have sinned, for we spoke against the LORD and against you. Pray to the LORD to take the serpents away from us.' So Moses prayed for the people.
31 But Moses called to them, so Aaron and all the leaders of the congregation came back to him, and Moses spoke to them.
16 I saw that you had sinned against the LORD your God. You had made a molten calf for yourselves. You had quickly turned aside from the way the LORD had commanded you.
16 Pharaoh quickly summoned Moses and Aaron and said, "I have sinned against the LORD your God and against you.

8 And all the people answered together, saying, 'We will do everything the LORD has spoken.' Moses brought their words back to the LORD.
