Lev 22:2-9 : 2 Speak to Aaron and his sons and command them to separate themselves from the holy things of the people of Israel, so that they do not profane My holy name by what they dedicate to Me. I am the LORD.
Say to them: 'If any of your descendants in future generations approaches the holy things that the people of Israel dedicate to the LORD while he is ceremonially unclean, that person will be cut off from My presence. I am the LORD.'
If any man from Aaron's descendants has a skin disease or a discharge, he must not eat from the holy things until he is clean. Whoever touches anything made unclean by a corpse, or a man who has had an emission of semen,
or touches any unclean crawling creature that makes him unclean, or any person who makes him unclean by whatever means—
the person who touches any of these will be unclean until evening and must not eat any of the holy things unless he has bathed in water.
When the sun has set, he will be clean, and afterward he may eat from the holy things, for they are his food.
He must not eat anything that has died naturally or been torn by wild animals, making himself unclean by it. I am the LORD.
They must keep My commands and not bear guilt by treating the holy things improperly, for if they do, they will die because of it. I am the LORD who sanctifies them.
No outsider is to eat the holy food. A guest of the priest or a hired servant must not eat the holy food.
However, if a priest buys someone with his money as property, that person may eat from the priest's food, and those born in his household may also eat his food.
If a priest's daughter marries someone who is not a priest, she must not eat the sacred contributions from the holy things.
But if a priest's daughter becomes a widow or is divorced, has no children, and returns to her father's house as she was in her youth, she may eat her father's food again. But no outsider may eat of it.
If anyone eats a sacred offering unintentionally, they must add a fifth of its value to it and give it to the priest as compensation for the sacred thing.
The priests must not allow the sacred offerings of the people of Israel, which they present to the LORD, to be defiled.
By doing so, they would make the people guilty of wrongdoing for eating their holy offerings, for I am the LORD who makes them holy.
The LORD spoke to Moses, saying:
Speak to Aaron, his sons, and all the Israelites, and tell them: If any Israelite or foreigner living among you presents an offering, whether it is to fulfill a vow or as a freewill offering to the LORD as a burnt offering,
it must be a male without defect to be accepted, from the cattle, the sheep, or the goats.
Do not offer anything with a defect, because it will not be accepted on your behalf.
If anyone offers a fellowship sacrifice to the LORD for a special vow or as a freewill offering from the herd or the flock, it must be without defect to be accepted; there must be no blemish in it.
You must not offer to the LORD anything that is blind, broken, injured, or with warts, scabs, or skin disease; you must not bring them as a fire offering on the altar to the LORD.
You may offer a bull or lamb that has an overgrown or stunted limb as a freewill offering, but it will not be accepted as a vow offering.
You must not offer to the LORD any animals that are bruised, crushed, torn, or cut, nor are you to do this in your land.
You must not accept such animals from the hand of a foreigner to offer as the food of your God. They are deformed and have defects; they will not be accepted on your behalf.
The LORD spoke to Moses, saying:
When an ox, sheep, or goat is born, it must remain with its mother for seven days. From the eighth day onward, it will be acceptable as an offering made by fire to the LORD.
Do not slaughter a cow or a sheep and its young on the same day.
When you offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving to the LORD, offer it in such a way that it will be accepted on your behalf.
It must be eaten on the same day; do not leave any of it until morning. I am the LORD.
Therefore, keep My commandments and follow them. I am the LORD.
Do not profane My holy name, for I must be regarded as holy among the Israelites. I am the LORD, who makes you holy.
I brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God. I am the LORD.
