  • Rom 4:3-9 : 3 What does the Scripture say? 'Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.' 4 Now to the one who works, wages are not counted as a gift but as an obligation. 5 But to the one who does not work but believes in the one who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness. 6 Just as David also speaks of the blessedness of the person to whom God credits righteousness apart from works: 7 Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven and whose sins are covered. 8 Blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count sin. 9 Is this blessedness then only for the circumcised, or also for the uncircumcised? For we say that faith was credited to Abraham as righteousness. 10 How then was it credited? Was it while he was circumcised or uncircumcised? It was not while he was circumcised, but while he was uncircumcised. 11 And he received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. So that he might be the father of all who believe without being circumcised, so that righteousness might also be credited to them, 12 and to be the father of the circumcised who are not only circumcised but also walk in the footsteps of the faith that our father Abraham had before he was circumcised. 13 For the promise to Abraham or his descendants that he would be heir of the world did not come through the law but through the righteousness of faith. 14 For if those who are of the law inherit, faith is made void, and the promise is nullified. 15 For the law brings wrath, and where there is no law, there is no transgression. 16 Therefore, the promise comes by faith, that it may be according to grace, so that it might be guaranteed to all the offspring—not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who share the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all. 17 As it is written: 'I have made you a father of many nations.' He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were.
  • Rom 8:9-9 : 9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Him. 10 But if Christ is in you, even though the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who lives in you. 12 So then, brothers and sisters, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to it. 13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. 15 You did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, 'Abba, Father.' 16 The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.
  • Rom 8:26-27 : 26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weaknesses. For we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with unspeakable groanings. 27 And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.
  • Acts 1:4-5 : 4 While He was with them, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, He said, "You have heard from Me." 5 For John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.

  • Rom 10:9-9 : 9 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in Him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches to all who call on Him. 13 For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. 14 How then can they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching? 15 And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of peace, who bring the good news of good things!”

15 Brothers and sisters, let me take an example from everyday life: Just as no one can set aside or add to a human covenant that has been duly ratified, so it is in this case.

16 Now to Abraham the promises were spoken, and to his seed. It does not say, 'and to seeds,' as if referring to many, but, 'and to your seed,' meaning one, who is Christ.

17 This is what I mean: The law, introduced 430 years later, does not set aside the covenant previously established by God and thus cancel the promise.

18 For if the inheritance depends on the law, then it no longer depends on the promise; but God gave it to Abraham through a promise.

23 Before this faith came, we were held in custody under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed.

24 So the law was our guardian until Christ came, so that we might be justified by faith.
