18 From this day forward, consider carefully: From the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month—the day the foundation of the temple of the LORD was laid—consider it carefully.
8 And this temple, now exalted, will become a heap of ruins. Everyone who passes by it will be appalled and will hiss, saying, 'Why has the LORD done this to this land and this temple?'
13 You say, 'What a burden!' and you sniff at it with contempt, says the LORD of Hosts. When you bring stolen, lame, or sick animals and offer them as sacrifices, should I accept them from your hands? says the LORD.
9 Now plead with God to be gracious to us. Will he accept you? This offering came from your hands. How can he be pleased with you? says the LORD of Hosts.
10 Oh, that one of you would shut the temple doors so you would not light useless fires on my altar! I am not pleased with you, says the LORD of Hosts, and I will not accept any offerings from your hands.
21 This temple, which was so exalted, will be appalling to every passerby who sees it. They will say, 'Why has the LORD done such a thing to this land and to this temple?'

9 The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house, and his hands will complete it. Then you will know that the LORD of Hosts has sent me to you.
11 For the LORD has given the command: The great house will be shattered into pieces, and the small house into bits.
15 But I am very angry with the nations that are at ease; for while I was only a little angry, they added to the harm.
16 'Therefore, this is what the Lord says: I have returned to Jerusalem with compassion; my house will be rebuilt, declares the Lord of Hosts, and a measuring line will be stretched out over Jerusalem.'

14 So I will do to the house that bears my name, in which you trust, and to the place I gave to you and your ancestors, just as I did to Shiloh.

13 Their wealth will become plunder, and their houses a desolation. They will build houses but not live in them, and they will plant vineyards but not drink their wine.
15 I will strike down the winter house along with the summer house, and the houses of ivory will perish, and the great houses will come to an end,” declares the Lord.

14 Israel has forgotten his Maker and built palaces; Judah has fortified many cities. But I will send fire on their cities, and it will devour their strongholds.
14 You have said, 'Serving God is futile. What profit is there in keeping his requirements or walking mournfully before the Lord of Hosts?
11 Therefore, because you trample on the poor and exact a grain tax from them, though you have built houses of cut stone, you will not live in them; though you have planted delightful vineyards, you will not drink their wine.
5 For you took my silver and my gold and carried my precious treasures into your temples.
6 'Behold, the days are coming when everything in your palace, and all that your fathers have stored up until this day, will be carried off to Babylon. Nothing will be left,' says the LORD.
11 But now I will not treat the remnant of this people as I did in the past, declares the LORD of Hosts.
9 The word of the LORD came to me, saying,
2 Thus says the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel: You have seen all the disaster I brought upon Jerusalem and upon all the cities of Judah. Look, they are a ruin today, without anyone living there.
