Azariah son of Hoshaiah, Johanan son of Kareah, and all the arrogant men said to Jeremiah, 'You are lying! The LORD our God did not send you to say, ‘Do not go to Egypt to settle there.’

20 For you have deceived yourselves when you sent me to the LORD your God, saying, 'Pray to the LORD our God for us, and whatever the LORD our God says, tell us and we will do it.'
15 Then the prophet Jeremiah said to the prophet Hananiah, 'Listen now, Hananiah, the LORD has not sent you, but you have led this people to trust in falsehood.'

27 All the officials did come to Jeremiah and questioned him, and he told them everything the king had ordered him to say. So they said no more to him, for no one had heard the conversation.
16 'Go and say to Ebed-Melech the Cushite, This is what the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: I am about to bring my words against this city for disaster and not for good, and they will happen before your eyes on that day.
2 The words Jeremiah the prophet spoke concerning all the people of Judah and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying:
9 He said to them, "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: You sent me to present your petition before Him.
