  • 11For as the waistband clings to the waist of a man, so I made the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah cling to me,' declares the LORD, 'to be my people, my renown, my praise, and my glory. But they would not listen.'

  • 11Judah has been unfaithful, and an abomination has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem. Judah has profaned the sanctuary of the Lord, which He loves, and has married the daughter of a foreign god.

  • 26For the LORD saw how bitter the suffering of Israel was; there was no one to help, neither slave nor free.

  • 15O Lord, the God of Israel, you are righteous! We are left with this remnant today. Here we are before you in our guilt, though no one can stand in your presence because of this.

  • 2The Lord has swallowed up all the dwellings of Jacob without pity. In his wrath, he has torn down the fortresses of the daughter of Judah, bringing them down to the ground. He has defiled her kingdom and its rulers.

  • 44Yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them or abhor them so as to destroy them completely, breaking my covenant with them, for I am the LORD their God.
