Hear this, house of Jacob, those who are called by the name of Israel and who have come out of Judah's lineage, who swear by the name of the LORD and invoke the God of Israel, but not in truth or righteousness.

15Though you, Israel, play the harlot, let not Judah become guilty. Do not go to Gilgal, do not go up to Beth Aven, and do not swear, 'As surely as the LORD lives!'

4Do not trust deceitful words, saying: ‘This is the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD.’
5All this is because of the transgression of Jacob and the sins of the house of Israel. What is Jacob’s transgression? Is it not Samaria? And what are the high places of Judah? Are they not Jerusalem?
4For the sake of my servant Jacob and Israel, my chosen one, I have called you by name and given you a title of honor, though you do not know me.
11For as the waistband clings to the waist of a man, so I made the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah cling to me,' declares the LORD, 'to be my people, my renown, my praise, and my glory. But they would not listen.'
19The Portion of Jacob is not like these, for He is the Creator of all things, and Israel is the tribe of His inheritance; the Lord of Hosts is His name.

25Yet you say, 'The way of the Lord is not just.' Hear me, O house of Israel: Is my way unjust? Is it not your ways that are unjust?

11Her leaders judge for a bribe, her priests teach for a price, and her prophets practice divination for silver. Yet they lean on the LORD, saying, 'Is not the LORD among us? No disaster will come upon us.'

26But hear the word of the LORD, all you people of Judah living in Egypt: ‘I have sworn by my great name,’ says the LORD, ‘that no one from Judah living in Egypt will ever again invoke my name or swear, “As surely as the Lord GOD lives.”
8The Lord GOD has sworn by Himself—this is the declaration of the LORD, the God of Hosts: 'I detest the pride of Jacob and hate his fortresses, so I will deliver up the city and all that is in it.'
