21 This temple, which was so exalted, will be appalling to every passerby who sees it. They will say, 'Why has the LORD done such a thing to this land and to this temple?'
12 When you come to appear before Me, who has asked this of you, this trampling of My courts?
7 By presenting defiled food on my altar. But you ask, 'How have we defiled you?' By saying, 'The LORD's table is contemptible.'

10 When you tell these people all these words, they will ask you, 'Why has the LORD declared such a great calamity against us? What is our guilt? What is the sin that we have committed against the LORD our God?'
9 And He said to me, 'Go in and see the wicked abominations they are doing here.'
10 So I went in and looked, and behold, there were all sorts of carvings of crawling things, detestable animals, and all the idols of the house of Israel engraved on the walls all around.

14 Cursed is the deceiver who has a male animal in his flock and vows to give it, but instead sacrifices a blemished animal to the Lord. For I am a great King, says the LORD of Hosts, and my name is to be feared among the nations.
7 I brought you into a fertile land to eat its fruit and its bounty. But you came and defiled my land. You made my inheritance detestable.
7 You destroy those who speak lies; the LORD detests the violent and deceitful.
7 then I will cut off Israel from the land I have given them, and I will reject this temple I have consecrated for My name. Israel will then become a proverb and an object of ridicule among all peoples.
8 And this temple, now exalted, will become a heap of ruins. Everyone who passes by it will be appalled and will hiss, saying, 'Why has the LORD done this to this land and this temple?'
6 The LORD said to me, ‘Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying: Listen to the words of this covenant and do them.’
11 For the house of Israel and the house of Judah have been thoroughly unfaithful to Me, declares the Lord.
8 They have lived in it and have built in it a sanctuary for your name, saying,
9 'If disaster comes upon us—whether the sword, judgment, plague, or famine—we will stand before this temple and in your presence (for your name is in this temple) and cry out to you in our distress, and you will hear us and save us.'
7 How can I pardon you? Your children have forsaken Me and sworn by false gods. I satisfied them, but they committed adultery and gathered at the houses of prostitutes.
11 For both prophet and priest have become corrupt. Even in My house I have found their wickedness, declares the LORD.
20 Declare this to the house of Jacob and proclaim it in Judah, saying:
4 'I will send it out,' declares the LORD of Hosts, 'and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of the one who swears falsely by my name. It will remain inside their house and consume it completely, including its timber and stones.'
6 For our ancestors were unfaithful and did what was evil in the sight of the LORD our God. They abandoned Him, turned their backs on His dwelling place, and walked away.
11 Her leaders judge for a bribe, her priests teach for a price, and her prophets practice divination for silver. Yet they lean on the LORD, saying, 'Is not the LORD among us? No disaster will come upon us.'
17 Do you not see what they are doing in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
7 The Lord has rejected his altar and disowned his sanctuary. He has delivered into the hand of the enemy the walls of her palaces. They raised their voices in the house of the LORD as on a day of appointed festival.
8 You have despised my holy things and profaned my Sabbaths.

17 And He said to me, 'Have you seen this, son of man? Is it a trivial thing for the house of Judah to commit the abominations they commit here? For they have filled the land with violence and continually anger Me. Behold, they are even putting the branch to their nose!
