  • Jas 4:1-4 : 1 What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within your body parts? 2 You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. 3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. 4 You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.

  • Jer 9:2-9 : 2 They bend their tongues like a bow to shoot lies, not for truth do they grow strong in the land; they go from one evil to another, and they do not know me, declares the Lord. 3 Beware of your neighbor; do not trust even a brother. Every brother utterly deceives, and every friend spreads slander. 4 Each one deceives his neighbor, and they do not speak the truth. They have trained their tongues to speak lies and exhaust themselves with wrongdoing. 5 You live in the midst of deceit, and because of deceit, they refuse to know me, declares the Lord. 6 Therefore, this is what the Lord of Hosts says: Behold, I will refine them and test them, for what else can I do because of the sin of my people? 7 Their tongues are a sharpened arrow; deceit pours from their mouths. They speak peace to their neighbor, but in their hearts, they set up an ambush. 8 Should I not punish them for these things? declares the Lord. Should I not avenge myself on such a nation as this? 9 I will raise weeping and wailing for the mountains and a dirge for the pastures in the wilderness, because they are burned up and desolate; no one passes through, and cattle cannot be heard anymore—birds of the sky and animals alike have fled and are gone.

But I will rebuke you and lay the case before your eyes.
  • Isa 59:1-8 : 1 Look, the arm of the LORD is not too weak to save, nor is His ear too dull to hear. 2 But your iniquities have created a divide between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear. 3 For your hands are stained with blood, and your fingers with guilt. Your lips have spoken falsehood, and your tongue mutters injustice. 4 No one calls for justice, and no one pleads with integrity. They rely on empty words and speak lies; they conceive trouble and give birth to iniquity. 5 They hatch the eggs of vipers and spin spider webs. Whoever eats their eggs dies, and when one is crushed, a viper hatches. 6 Their webs will not become clothing, and they cannot cover themselves with their works. Their deeds are works of iniquity, and acts of violence are in their hands. 7 Their feet run to do evil, and they are quick to shed innocent blood. Their thoughts are sinful; ruin and destruction are in their paths. 8 The way of peace they do not know, and there is no justice in their ways. They have made their paths crooked; whoever walks in them does not know peace.

  • Ezek 18:10-13 : 10 Suppose he has a violent son who sheds blood or does any of these evil things, 11 even though the father did none of them: He eats at the mountain shrines, defiles his neighbor’s wife, 12 oppresses the poor and needy, commits robbery, does not restore a pledge, looks to idols, and does detestable things, 13 He lends at interest and takes a profit. Will such a person live? He will not! Because he has committed all these abominations, he will surely be put to death, and his blood will be on his own head.
  • Ezek 18:18 : 18 But his father, because he practiced extortion, robbed his own people, and did what was not good among them—behold, he will die for his iniquity.
  • Ezek 33:25-26 : 25 Therefore, say to them, 'This is what the Lord GOD says: You eat meat with the blood still in it, you look to your idols, and you shed blood. Should you then possess the land?' 26 You rely on your swords, you commit detestable acts, and each of you defiles his neighbor's wife. Should you then possess the land?
  • Hos 4:1-3 : 1 Hear the word of the LORD, O people of Israel! For the LORD has a charge against the inhabitants of the land: there is no truth, no steadfast love, and no knowledge of God in the land. 2 There is swearing, lying, murder, stealing, and adultery; they break all bounds, and bloodshed follows bloodshed. 3 Therefore the land mourns, and all who live in it languish, along with the beasts of the field, the birds of the skies, and even the fish of the sea are taken away.
  • Mic 3:8-9 : 8 But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the LORD, and with justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression and to Israel his sin. 9 Hear this, leaders of the house of Jacob and rulers of the house of Israel, you who despise justice and twist all that is right: 10 You build Zion with bloodshed and Jerusalem with iniquity. 11 Her leaders judge for a bribe, her priests teach for a price, and her prophets practice divination for silver. Yet they lean on the LORD, saying, 'Is not the LORD among us? No disaster will come upon us.' 12 Therefore because of you, Zion will be plowed like a field, Jerusalem will become a heap of ruins, and the mountain of the temple will become a high place overgrown with thickets.
  • Zeph 1:5 : 5 I will also cut off those who bow in worship on the rooftops to the starry host, those who bow and swear by the Lord but also swear by Milcom.
  • Zech 5:3-4 : 3 Then he said to me, 'This is the curse that is going out over the whole land: for everyone who steals will be judged according to what is written on one side, and everyone who swears falsely will be judged according to what is written on the other side.' 4 'I will send it out,' declares the LORD of Hosts, 'and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of the one who swears falsely by my name. It will remain inside their house and consume it completely, including its timber and stones.'
  • Mal 3:5 : 5 I will come near to you for judgment. I will be a swift witness against sorcerers, adulterers, and those who swear falsely; against those who defraud workers of their wages, oppress widows and orphans, and deprive foreigners of justice. They do not fear me, says the Lord of Hosts.
  • Rom 2:2 : 2 We know that God's judgment is based on truth against those who practice such things.
  • Rom 2:17-29 : 17 Now you, if you call yourself a Jew, and rely on the law and boast in God, 18 and know His will and approve things that are excellent, being instructed from the law, 19 and are convinced that you are a guide for the blind, a light for those in darkness, 20 an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of children, having in the law the form of knowledge and truth— 21 You then, who teach others, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal? 22 You who say that people should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? 23 You who boast in the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law? 24 For as it is written, 'The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.' 25 Circumcision indeed has value if you obey the law, but if you are a lawbreaker, your circumcision has become uncircumcision. 26 So, if those who are uncircumcised keep the righteous requirements of the law, will their uncircumcision not be regarded as circumcision? 27 The one who is not physically circumcised but keeps the law will condemn you who, even though you have the written code and circumcision, are a lawbreaker. 28 For a person is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. 29 But a person is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter. Such a person’s praise is not from people, but from God.
  • 1 Cor 6:9-9 : 9 Don't you know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? • Gal 5:19-21 : 19 Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, debauchery, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostilities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
  • Eph 5:5-7 : 5 For you know this with certainty, that no sexually immoral, impure, or greedy person—who is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience. 7 Therefore, do not be partners with them.
  • 2 Tim 3:2-5 : 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, and unholy. 3 They will be unloving, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, and hostile to what is good. 4 They will be traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God. 5 They will have a form of godliness but deny its power. Stay away from such people.
