12They have lied about the Lord and said, 'He won't do anything! No disaster will come upon us; we will not see sword or famine.'
5Their buyers slaughter them without remorse, and those who sell them say, 'Blessed be the LORD, for I am rich.' Their own shepherds show no pity on them.
6We have sinned, just as our ancestors did; we have committed iniquity and acted wickedly.
17For wickedness burns like a fire; it consumes briers and thorns. It sets the thickets of the forest ablaze, and they roll upward in columns of smoke.
18The LORD is righteous, for I have rebelled against his word. Listen, all you peoples; look at my suffering. My young women and my young men have gone into captivity.
13The land will become desolate because of its inhabitants, due to the fruit of their deeds.
