They said, 'Let us go up against them, for we have seen the land and it is very good. Why are you hesitating? Do not delay in going to take possession of the land!'

28Where can we go? Our brothers have discouraged us by saying, 'The people are larger and taller than we are, the cities are great and fortified up to the heavens, and we even saw the descendants of the Anakim there.'
9If they say to us, 'Wait there until we come to you,' we will stay in our place and not go up to them.
10But if they say, 'Come up to us,' we will go up, for the Lord has handed them over to us. That will be our sign.
24Their descendants went in and took possession of the land. You subdued the inhabitants of the land—the Canaanites—before them and handed their kings and the peoples of the land over to them, to do with as they desired.
25They captured fortified cities and fertile land. They took possession of houses filled with every good thing, hewn cisterns, vineyards, olive groves, and fruit trees in abundance. They ate, were satisfied, grew fat, and delighted themselves in Your great goodness.
18At that time I commanded you: 'The LORD your God has given you this land to take possession of it. All your fighting men, fully armed, must cross over ahead of your fellow Israelites.'
27They gave Moses this account: “We went into the land to which you sent us, and indeed it flows with milk and honey. Here is its fruit.
28However, the people who live there are strong, and the cities are large and very fortified. We even saw the descendants of Anak there.
24They said to Joshua, "The LORD has surely given the whole land into our hands; all the inhabitants of the land are melting in fear because of us."
6Be strong and courageous, for you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them.

41Then you answered me and said, 'We have sinned against the LORD. We will go up and fight, just as the LORD our God commanded us.' So each of you strapped on his weapons of war and thought it would be easy to go up into the hill country.
18Do what is right and good in the sight of the LORD, so that it may go well with you, and you may go in and possess the good land the LORD promised to your ancestors.
28‘Charge Joshua and encourage him, for he will lead this people across and enable them to inherit the land that you will see.’
32We will cross over armed before the Lord into the land of Canaan, but the possession of our inheritance will be on this side of the Jordan."
9and said to them, "I know that the LORD has given you this land and that fear of you has fallen on us, so that all who live in this country are melting in fear because of you.
31For you are about to cross the Jordan to enter and possess the land the LORD your God is giving you. You will take possession of it and live in it.
38Joshua son of Nun, who stands before you, will enter it. Strengthen him, because he will lead Israel to inherit it.
39And the little ones you said would be taken as plunder—your children who do not yet know good from evil—they will enter the land. I will give it to them, and they will take possession of it.
40Early the next morning they set out toward the top of the hill and said, 'Here we are! We are ready to go up to the place the LORD promised, for we have sinned.'
11'See how they are repaying us by coming to drive us out of the possession you gave us as an inheritance.'
