My son, if you have become surety for your neighbor, if you have shaken hands in pledge with a stranger,

6But that prophet or dreamer must be put to death, because he encouraged rebellion against the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of slavery, to lead you away from the path the LORD your God commanded you to follow. You must purge the evil from among you.
20Why, my son, should you be captivated by a forbidden woman or embrace the bosom of a stranger?
25If you take your neighbor's cloak as a pledge, return it to him before the sun sets.
18Beware that wrath does not entice you to scoffing, and let a great ransom not turn you aside.
5Do not let your mouth cause you to sin, and do not tell God’s messenger that it was a mistake. Why should God be angry at your words and destroy the work of your hands?
6Much dreaming and many words are meaningless. Therefore, fear God.
11But if the animal was stolen from the neighbor, restitution must be made to the owner.
14To him who is despairing, kindness should come from his friend, or he will forsake the fear of the Almighty.
9Lest you give your vigor to others, and your years to someone cruel;
10Lest strangers feast on your strength, and your hard-earned wealth end up in the house of a foreigner.
6Train a child in the way he should go, and even when he is old he will not depart from it.
2Moses spoke to the leaders of the tribes of Israel, saying, 'This is what the LORD has commanded:'
1My son, keep my words and treasure my commandments with you.
6Do not take a pair of millstones, not even the upper one, as security for a debt, because that would be taking a person's livelihood as a pledge.
