3 This happened because of their wickedness in provoking me to anger by burning incense and worshiping other gods—gods they, you, and your ancestors did not know.
6 For our ancestors were unfaithful and did what was evil in the sight of the LORD our God. They abandoned Him, turned their backs on His dwelling place, and walked away.
5 This is what the LORD says: ‘What fault did your ancestors find in me that they strayed so far from me? They pursued worthless idols and became worthless themselves.
7 Do not be like your ancestors and your brothers, who were unfaithful to the LORD, the God of their ancestors, so that He made them an object of horror, as you can see.
8 Now do not harden your necks as your ancestors did. Submit to the LORD; come to His sanctuary, which He has consecrated forever. Serve the LORD your God so that His fierce anger will turn away from you.

7 Your iniquities and the iniquities of your ancestors together,' says the LORD, 'because they burned incense on the mountains and reproached me on the hills; I will measure their former deeds into their laps.'
15 But if you do not obey the LORD and rebel against His command, then the hand of the LORD will be against you, as it was against your ancestors.
13 Your words against me have been harsh, says the Lord. But you ask, 'What have we spoken against you?

9 Have you forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, the wickedness of the kings of Judah, the wickedness of their wives, your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives, which they committed in the land of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
2 Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth, for the LORD has spoken: "I have raised children and brought them up, but they have rebelled against Me.
10 They have turned back to the sins of their ancestors, who refused to listen to my words. They have followed other gods to serve them. The house of Israel and the house of Judah have violated my covenant, which I made with their ancestors.
17 I struck you—all the work of your hands— with blight, mildew, and hail, but you did not turn to me—this is the declaration of the LORD.
9 Now plead with God to be gracious to us. Will he accept you? This offering came from your hands. How can he be pleased with you? says the LORD of Hosts.
20 We acknowledge, LORD, our wickedness and the guilt of our ancestors; indeed, we have sinned against You.
16 O Lord, in keeping with all Your righteous acts, let Your anger and wrath turn away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain. For because of our sins and the iniquities of our ancestors, Jerusalem and Your people have become an object of scorn to all those around us.
1 But Jonah was greatly displeased and became angry.
2 The Lord has swallowed up all the dwellings of Jacob without pity. In his wrath, he has torn down the fortresses of the daughter of Judah, bringing them down to the ground. He has defiled her kingdom and its rulers.
