And Jesus said unto him, You say it. 12 And when he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing. 13 Then Pilate said unto him, Don't you hear how many things they testify against you? 14 And he answered him to never a word, so much that the governor marveled greatly. 15 Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to release to the people a prisoner, whom they wished. 16 And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas. 17 Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will you that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ? 18 For he knew that for envy they had delivered him. 19 When he sat down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have nothing to do with that just man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of him. 20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus. 21 The governor answered and said unto them, Which of the two do you want me to release unto you? They said, Barabbas. 22 Pilate said unto them, What then shall I do with Jesus, who is called Christ? They all said unto him, Let him be crucified. 23 And the governor said, Why, what evil has he done? But they cried out all the more, saying, Let him be crucified. 24 When Pilate saw that he could nothing prevail, but rather a tumult was made, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person. See to it yourselves. 25 Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us and on our children. 26 Then he released Barabbas to them, and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified. 27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall and gathered the whole band of soldiers around him. 28 And they stripped him and put on him a scarlet robe. 29 And when they had twisted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand. And they bowed the knee before him and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! 30 And they spit upon him, and took the reed and hit him on the head. 31 And after they had mocked him, they took the robe off him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him away to crucify him. 32 And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name; him they compelled to carry his cross. 33 And when they came to a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull, 34 They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall, and when he had tasted it, he would not drink. 35 And they crucified him and parted his garments, casting lots, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my clothing did they cast lots. 36 And sitting down, they watched him there.

What is it these men testify against you? 61 But he held his peace and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? 62 And Jesus said, I am; and you shall see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. 63 Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, What further need do we have of witnesses? 64 You have heard the blasphemy; what think you? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death. 65 And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face and to beat him, and to say to him, Prophesy; and the servants struck him with the palms of their hands.
  • Mark 15:1-9 : 1 And immediately in the morning, the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, and carried him away, and delivered him to Pilate. 2 And Pilate asked him, Are you the King of the Jews? And he answering said to him, You say it. 3 And the chief priests accused him of many things, but he answered nothing. 4 And Pilate asked him again, saying, Do you answer nothing? See how many things they testify against you. 5 But Jesus still answered nothing, so that Pilate was amazed. 6 Now at that feast he released to them one prisoner, whomever they desired. 7 And there was one named Barabbas, who was bound with those who had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection. 8 And the multitude, crying aloud, began to ask him to do as he had always done for them. 9 But Pilate answered them, saying, Do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews? 10 For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him because of envy. 11 But the chief priests stirred up the people, that he should rather release Barabbas to them. 12 And Pilate answered and said again to them, What then do you want me to do with him whom you call the King of the Jews? 13 And they cried out again, Crucify him. 14 Then Pilate said to them, Why, what evil has he done? And they cried out all the more, Crucify him. 15 And so Pilate, wanting to satisfy the crowd, released Barabbas to them, and he delivered Jesus, after scourging him, to be crucified. 16 And the soldiers led him away into the hall, called Praetorium, and they called together the whole band. 17 And they clothed him with purple, and twisted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, 18 And began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews! 19 And they struck him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing their knees, worshiped him. 20 And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple robe from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him. 21 And they compelled one Simon, a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to carry his cross. 22 And they brought him to the place Golgotha, which is, translated, The Place of a Skull. 23 And they gave him to drink wine mingled with myrrh, but he did not take it. 24 And when they had crucified him, they divided his garments, casting lots for them, what each man should take. 25 And it was the third hour, and they crucified him. 26 And the inscription of his accusation was written above, THE KING OF THE JEWS. 27 And with him they crucified two thieves, one on his right side, and the other on his left.

What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do to them? 16 He shall come and destroy those tenant farmers, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid. 17 And he looked at them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same has become the cornerstone? 18 Whoever falls upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it falls, it will grind him to powder. 19 And the chief priests and the scribes tried to lay hands on him at that very hour; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them.

  • Luke 22:63-23:5 : 63 And the men who held Jesus mocked him, and beat him. 64 And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that struck you? 65 And they spoke many other blasphemous things against him. 66 And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying, 67 Are you the Christ? Tell us. And he said to them, If I tell you, you will not believe: 68 And if I also ask you, you will not answer me, nor let me go. 69 Hereafter shall the Son of Man sit on the right hand of the power of God. 70 Then they all said, Are you then the Son of God? And he said to them, You say that I am. 71 And they said, What need do we have for any further witness? For we ourselves have heard it from his own mouth. 1 And the whole crowd arose and led Him to Pilate. 2 And they began to accuse Him, saying, We found this man misleading the nation and forbidding to pay taxes to Caesar, claiming that He is Christ, a King. 3 And Pilate asked Him, saying, Are You the King of the Jews? And He answered him, saying, You say it. 4 Then Pilate said to the chief priests and to the people, I find no fault in this man. 5 But they were even more fierce, saying, He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee to here.
  • Luke 23:7-9 : 7 And as soon as he knew that He belonged to Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent Him to Herod, who was also in Jerusalem at that time. 8 And when Herod saw Jesus, he was very glad; for he had long wanted to see Him, because he had heard many things about Him, and he hoped to see some miracle done by Him. 9 Then he questioned Him with many words; but He answered him nothing. 10 And the chief priests and scribes stood and vehemently accused Him. 11 And Herod with his soldiers treated Him with contempt and mocked Him, arraying Him in a splendid robe, and sent Him back to Pilate. 12 And that same day Pilate and Herod became friends, for they had previously been enemies. 13 And Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests, the rulers, and the people, 14 Said to them, You have brought this man to me as one who misleads the people. And behold, I have examined Him in your presence, and have found no fault in this man concerning those things of which you accuse Him. 15 No, nor Herod, for I sent you to him, and indeed nothing deserving death has been done by Him. 16 I will therefore chastise Him and release Him. 17 (For it was necessary for him to release one to them at the feast.) 18 And they all cried out at once, saying, Away with this man, and release to us Barabbas: 19 (who had been thrown into prison for a certain rebellion made in the city, and for murder.) 20 Pilate, therefore, wanting to release Jesus, spoke again to them. 21 But they cried, saying, Crucify Him, crucify Him. 22 And he said to them the third time, Why, what evil has He done? I have found no reason for death in Him. I will therefore chastise Him and let Him go. 23 But they persisted with loud voices, demanding that He be crucified. And their voices and those of the chief priests prevailed. 24 And Pilate sentenced that it should be as they requested. 25 And he released to them the one who had been thrown into prison for rebellion and murder, whom they had asked for; but he delivered Jesus to their will. 26 And as they led Him away, they seized Simon, a Cyrenian, coming from the country, and they laid the cross on him, that he might carry it behind Jesus. 27 And a great crowd of people followed Him, and of women who also mourned and lamented Him. 28 But Jesus, turning to them, said, Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children. 29 For indeed, the days are coming in which they will say, Blessed are the barren, the wombs that never bore, and the breasts which never nursed. 30 Then they will begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us. 31 For if they do these things in the green wood, what will be done in the dry? 32 And there were also two others, criminals, led with Him to be put to death. 33 And when they came to the place called Calvary, they crucified Him there, and the criminals, one on the right hand and the other on the left. 34 Then Jesus said, Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do. And they divided His garments and cast lots. 35 And the people stood looking on. But the rulers, with them, sneered, saying, He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is Christ, the chosen of God. 36 The soldiers also mocked Him, coming to Him and offering Him vinegar, 37 and saying, If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself. 38 And an inscription was also written over Him in letters of Greek, Latin, and Hebrew: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

Jesus said to them, I am he. And Judas, who betrayed him, stood with them. 6 As soon as he said to them, I am he, they drew back and fell to the ground. 7 Then he asked them again, Whom do you seek? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth. 8 Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he; therefore, if you seek me, let these go their way, 9 that the saying might be fulfilled which he spoke, Of those whom you gave me I have lost none. 10 Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus. 11 Then Jesus said to Peter, Put your sword into the sheath. Shall I not drink the cup which my Father has given me? 12 Then the band and the captain and officers of the Jews arrested Jesus and bound him, 13 and led him away to Annas first, for he was father-in-law to Caiaphas, who was the high priest that year. 14 Now Caiaphas was he who gave counsel to the Jews that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.
  • John 18:19-24 : 19 The high priest then asked Jesus about his disciples and his teaching. 20 Jesus answered him, I spoke openly to the world. I always taught in the synagogues and in the temple, where the Jews always gather, and in secret I have said nothing. 21 Why do you ask me? Ask those who heard me what I have said to them. Indeed, they know what I said. 22 And when he had said this, one of the officers who stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Do you answer the high priest like that? 23 Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil; but if well, why do you strike me? 24 Now Annas sent him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.

But they themselves did not go into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled, but that they might eat the Passover. 29 Pilate then went out to them and said, What accusation do you bring against this man? 30 They answered and said to him, If he were not a wrongdoer, we would not have delivered him to you. 31 Then Pilate said to them, Take him and judge him according to your law. Therefore the Jews said to him, It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death, 32 that the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spoke, signifying by what death he would die. 33 Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, called Jesus, and said to him, Are you the King of the Jews? 34 Jesus answered him, Do you say this of yourself, or did others tell you about me? 35 Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered you to me. What have you done? 36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, then my servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now my kingdom is not from here. 37 Pilate therefore said to him, Are you a king then? Jesus answered, You say correctly that I am a king. For this purpose I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice. 38 Pilate said to him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews and said to them, I find no fault in him at all. 39 But you have a custom that I should release someone to you at the Passover. Do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews? 40 Then they all cried again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber. 1 Then Pilate took Jesus and scourged him. 2 And the soldiers wove a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and they placed on him a purple robe, 3 And said, Hail, King of the Jews! And they struck him with their hands. 4 Pilate then went out again and said to them, Behold, I bring him out to you, so that you may know I find no fault in him. 5 Then Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate said to them, Behold the man! 6 When the chief priests and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate said to them, Take him yourselves and crucify him: for I find no fault in him. 7 The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God. 8 When Pilate heard that saying, he was even more afraid; 9 And went again into the judgment hall, and said to Jesus, Where are you from? But Jesus gave him no answer. 10 Then Pilate said to him, Do you not speak to me? Do you not know that I have the power to crucify you, and have the power to release you? 11 Jesus answered, You could have no power against me at all, except it were given you from above: therefore he who delivered me to you has the greater sin. 12 And from then on Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If you let this man go, you are not Caesar's friend: Whoever makes himself a king speaks against Caesar. 13 When Pilate heard that saying, he brought Jesus out and sat down in the judgment seat in a place called the Pavement, but in Hebrew, Gabbatha. 14 And it was the preparation of the Passover, about the sixth hour: and he said to the Jews, Behold your King! 15 But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate said to them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar. 16 Then he delivered him to them to be crucified. And they took Jesus and led him away. 17 And he, bearing his cross, went out to a place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew Golgotha: 18 Where they crucified him, and with him two others, one on each side, and Jesus in the middle. 19 And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing said, JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS. 20 This title many of the Jews read, for where Jesus was crucified was near the city: and it was written in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin. 21 Then the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, Do not write, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews. 22 Pilate answered, What I have written, I have written. 23 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments and made four parts, to each soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout. 24 They said among themselves, Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it, to decide whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which says, They divided my clothes among them, and for my clothing they did cast lots. Therefore, the soldiers did these things.

What is it which these testify against you? 63 But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said to him, I adjure you by the living God, that you tell us whether you are the Christ, the Son of God. 64 Jesus said to him, You have said it: nevertheless I say to you, Hereafter shall you see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. 65 Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying, He has spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? Behold, now you have heard his blasphemy. 66 What do you think?
