Selah 39 But you have rejected and spurned; you have been furious with your anointed one. 40 You have renounced the covenant with your servant; you have defiled his crown to the ground. 41 You have broken through all his walls; you have reduced his strongholds to ruins. 42 All who pass by plunder him; he has become a reproach to his neighbors. 43 You have exalted the right hand of his adversaries; you have made all his enemies rejoice. 44 You have turned back the edge of his sword and have not supported him in battle. 45 You have brought his splendor to an end and cast his throne to the ground. 46 You have shortened the days of his youth; you have covered him with shame. Selah 47 How long, LORD? Will you hide yourself forever? Will your wrath keep burning like fire?
  • 2 Thess 2:3-9 : 3 Let no one deceive you in any way. That day will not come unless the rebellion takes place first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed—the son of destruction. 4 He opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he sits in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God. 5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you, I used to tell you these things? 6 And now you know what restrains him, so that he will be revealed at the proper time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only the one now restraining it will do so until he is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will destroy with the breath of His mouth and abolish by the splendor of His coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the workings of Satan, with all kinds of power, false signs, and wonders, 10 and with every kind of deceit targeting those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 For this reason, God sends them a powerful delusion, so that they will believe the lie, 12 in order that all who did not believe the truth but delighted in wickedness might be judged.
  • 1 Tim 4:1-3 : 1 Now the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and the teachings of demons. 2 They will speak lies with hypocrisy, and their consciences will be seared as with a hot iron. 3 They will forbid marriage and require abstinence from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.
  • 2 Tim 3:1-9 : 1 But know this: In the last days, difficult times will come. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, and unholy. 3 They will be unloving, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, and hostile to what is good. 4 They will be traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God. 5 They will have a form of godliness but deny its power. Stay away from such people. 6 They are the kind who creep into homes and capture weak-willed women who are burdened with sins and led astray by various desires. 7 Always learning but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth. They are corrupted in mind and disqualified regarding the faith. 9 But they will not get very far because their folly will be clear to everyone, just as the folly of Jannes and Jambres became evident. 10 But you have closely followed my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, and endurance. 11 You know my persecutions and sufferings—what happened to me in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra—the persecutions I endured. But the Lord delivered me from all of them. 12 Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. 13 But wicked people and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But you, continue in what you have learned and firmly believed, knowing from whom you have learned it. 15 And from childhood you have known the sacred Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
  • Rev 11:2-9 : 2 But exclude the outer court of the temple and do not measure it, because it has been given to the nations, and they will trample on the holy city for forty-two months. 3 And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth. 4 These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth. 5 If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes out of their mouths and devours their enemies. If anyone tries to harm them, this is how they must be killed. 6 They have authority to shut the sky so no rain will fall during the days of their prophecy. They also have power over the waters to turn them into blood and to strike the earth with any plague whenever they wish. 7 When they have completed their testimony, the beast that rises from the abyss will wage war with them, conquer them, and kill them. 8 Their bodies will lie in the main street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified. 9 For three and a half days, people from every tribe, language, and nation will gaze at their bodies and will not allow them to be buried in tombs. 10 The inhabitants of the earth will rejoice over them and celebrate, sending gifts to one another, because these two prophets had tormented those who dwell on the earth. 11 But after three and a half days, the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them. 12 Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up here." And they went up into heaven in a cloud as their enemies watched them. 13 At that very hour, there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city collapsed. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the survivors were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven. 14 The second woe has passed; look, the third woe is coming soon. 15 The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will reign forever and ever." 16 The twenty-four elders, who were seated on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17 saying, "We give thanks to You, Lord God Almighty, the One who is, and who was, and who is to come, because You have taken Your great power and have begun to reign." 18 The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come. The time has come to judge the dead and to reward Your servants the prophets, the saints, and those who fear Your name, both small and great, and to destroy those who destroy the earth. 19 Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and within His temple was seen the ark of His covenant. And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake, and a severe hailstorm.
  • Rev 12:13-17 : 13 When the dragon saw that he had been hurled to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. 14 But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle so that she might fly to the wilderness, to her place where she is nourished for a time, times, and half a time, out of the serpent’s reach. 15 Then, out of his mouth, the serpent spewed water like a river to overtake the woman and sweep her away with the flood. 16 But the earth helped the woman by opening its mouth and swallowing the river that the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. 17 Then the dragon became furious with the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring—those who keep God’s commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus.
