12Therefore wisdom and knowledge are given to you. I will also give you wealth, possessions, and honor, such as no king before you ever had and none after you will have."
1Then King David said to the entire assembly, "My son Solomon, the one chosen by God, is young and inexperienced, and the work is great because this temple is not for man but for the LORD God."
26But me—your servant—and Zadok the priest, Benaiah son of Jehoiada, and your servant Solomon, he did not invite.
27Is this decision from my lord the king, without letting your servants know who is to sit on the throne of my lord the king after him?"
20Now, my lord the king, the eyes of all Israel are on you, to tell them who will sit on the throne of my lord the king after him.

35You are to go up with him, and he is to sit on my throne and reign in my place. I have appointed him ruler over Israel and Judah.'
16Then King David went in and sat before the LORD, and he said: "Who am I, LORD God, and what is my house, that you have brought me this far?
17And as if this were not enough in your sight, O God, you have spoken about the future of the house of your servant. You have regarded me as though I were of high rank, LORD God.
18Then King David went in and sat before the LORD, and he said, "Who am I, O Lord GOD, and what is my house, that you have brought me thus far?
19And yet this was a small thing in your eyes, O Lord GOD. You have also spoken of your servant's house for a long time to come, and this is instruction for mankind, O Lord GOD!
20And what more can David say to you? For you know your servant, O Lord GOD.
21Because of your word and according to your own heart, you have done all this great thing to make your servant know it.
7Now then, tell my servant David: 'This is what the LORD of Hosts says: I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people Israel.
5Of all my sons—for the LORD has given me many sons—He has chosen my son Solomon to sit on the throne of the LORD’s kingdom over Israel.
6He said to me, ‘Solomon your son is the one who will build My house and My courts, for I have chosen him to be My son, and I will be his Father.
37Just as the LORD was with my lord the king, so may He be with Solomon and make his throne even greater than the throne of my lord King David."
46Moreover, Solomon has taken his seat on the royal throne.
47The king's servants have also come to bless our lord King David, saying, 'May your God make Solomon's name more famous than yours and his throne greater than yours!' And the king bowed on his bed in worship.
8Now therefore, this is what you shall say to my servant David: Thus says the LORD of hosts: I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people Israel.
19And give my son Solomon an undivided heart to keep your commandments, your statutes, and your decrees, and to carry out all these plans, building the temple for which I have made preparations.
1Solomon son of David established himself firmly over his kingdom, and the Lord his God was with him and made him exceedingly great.
12behold, I have done what you asked. I have given you a wise and discerning heart, so that there has never been anyone like you, nor will there ever be.
13I have also given you what you did not ask for: both wealth and honor, so that in your lifetime no king will compare to you.
23So Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king in place of his father David. He prospered, and all of Israel obeyed him.
11Now, my son, may the Lord be with you, so that you may succeed in building the house of the Lord your God, as He has spoken concerning you.
26And now, LORD, you are God, and you have made this good promise concerning your servant.
33the king said to them, "Take my servants with you, have Solomon my son ride on my own mule, and escort him down to Gihon.
25'Now, LORD, God of Israel, keep for Your servant David, my father, what You promised him: “You shall never fail to have a descendant to sit on the throne of Israel before Me, if only your descendants are careful to walk before Me as you have walked before Me.”'

7David said to Solomon, 'My son, it was in my heart to build a house for the name of the Lord my God.'
25And now, O LORD God, confirm forever the word that you have spoken concerning your servant and his house, and do as you have spoken.
17She said to him, "My lord, you yourself swore by the LORD your God to your servant, saying, 'Solomon your son will reign after me, and he will sit on my throne.'
18But now Adonijah has made himself king, and you, my lord the king, do not know about it.
27For you, O LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, have revealed this to your servant, saying, 'I will build you a house.' Therefore your servant has found courage to pray this prayer to you.
12"Now go, please, let me advise you so that you may save your own life and the life of your son Solomon.
13Go to King David and say to him, 'My lord the king, did you not swear to your servant, saying, "Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne"? Then why has Adonijah become king?'
19LORD, for the sake of your servant and according to your will, you have done this great thing and revealed all these great promises.
3This included ten fattened head of cattle, twenty pasture-fed cattle, and a hundred sheep—besides deer, gazelles, roebucks, and fattened fowl.
