1 Samuel 12:5
Samuel said to them, 'The LORD is a witness against you, and His anointed is a witness today, that you have not found anything in my hand.' 'He is a witness,' they said.

17The LORD has done as he spoke through me. He has torn the kingdom out of your hand and given it to your neighbor, to David.
12They said, 'That's not true! Tell us!' So he said, 'This is what he said to me: “This is what the LORD says: I anoint you king over Israel.”'
24Samuel said to the people, 'Do you see the one the LORD has chosen? There is no one like him among all the people.' Then the people shouted, 'Long live the king!'
12But when you saw that Nahash, king of the Ammonites, came against you, you said to me, ‘No, we want a king to reign over us,’ even though the LORD your God was your king.
13Now here is the king you have chosen, the one you asked for. See, the LORD has set a king over you.
16What you have done is not good. As surely as the LORD lives, you deserve to die because you did not guard your lord, the LORD's anointed. Now, look around! Where are the king's spear and the jar of water that were near his head?"
17Saul recognized David’s voice and said, "Is that your voice, my son David?" David replied, "It is my voice, my lord the king."
18And he added, "Why is my lord pursuing his servant? What have I done, and what wrong is in my hand?
10"As surely as the LORD your God lives," he continued, "there is no nation or kingdom where my master has not sent someone to look for you. And whenever they said, 'He is not here,' he made the kingdom or nation swear that they could not find you.
9But David said to Abishai, "Do not destroy him, for who can lay a hand on the LORD's anointed and be guiltless?"
5He risked his life to kill the Philistine, and the LORD brought about a great victory for all Israel. You saw it and rejoiced. So why would you sin by shedding innocent blood by killing David without cause?
6So Achish called David and said to him, "As surely as the LORD lives, you have been upright, and your conduct with me in the camp has been good in my eyes. I have found no fault in you from the day you came to me until today. But the rulers don’t approve of you.

3So all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, and David made a covenant with them at Hebron before the LORD. They anointed David king over Israel, as the LORD had said through Samuel.
27And Joshua said to all the people, "See, this stone will serve as a witness against us. It has heard all the words the LORD has spoken to us. It will be a witness against you if you deny your God.
15The king said to him, 'How many times must I make you swear to tell me nothing but the truth in the name of the LORD?'
18He said to David, 'You are more righteous than I, for you have treated me well, but I have treated you badly.'
22Joshua said to the people, "You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen to serve the LORD." And they said, "We are witnesses."
15Was this the first time I inquired of God for him? Of course not! Far be it from me! Let not the king accuse me or any of my father's family, for your servant knows nothing about this whole affair—whether great or small.'
4See, I have made him a witness to the nations, a leader and commander of the peoples.
