Joshua said to the people, "You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen to serve the LORD." And they said, "We are witnesses."

18And the LORD has declared today that you are His treasured people as He promised, and that you are to keep all His commandments.
9Joshua said to the Israelites, 'Come here and listen to the words of the LORD your God.'
7The people served the LORD throughout the lifetime of Joshua and the elders who outlived him and had seen all the great works the LORD had done for Israel.
2Joshua called all Israel together—its elders, leaders, judges, and officials—and said to them, 'I have grown old and am well along in years.'
3You have seen everything the LORD your God has done to all the nations before you, for the LORD your God is the one who fought for you.
10The elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, 'The Lord is our witness; we will certainly do as you say.'
10Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people:
27but as a witness between us and you and the generations that follow, that we will worship the LORD at His sanctuary with our burnt offerings, sacrifices, and fellowship offerings.’ Then in the future, your descendants will not be able to say to ours, ‘You have no share in the LORD.’
28And we said, ‘If they ever say this to us or to our descendants, we will answer: Look at the replica of the altar of the LORD, which our ancestors built—not for burnt offerings or sacrifices, but as a witness between us and you.’

21At that time, I also commanded Joshua, saying, 'Your own eyes have seen everything the LORD your God has done to these two kings. The LORD will do the same to all the kingdoms where you are crossing over.'
5But be very careful to keep the commandment and the law that Moses, the servant of the LORD, commanded you: to love the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways, to keep His commandments, to hold fast to Him, and to serve Him with all your heart and all your soul.
7Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it to the people. They said, "We will do everything the LORD has said; we will obey."
14And you answered me and said, 'What you have proposed is good for us to do.'
