    11'This day you have seen with your own eyes how the LORD delivered you into my hands in the cave. Some urged me to kill you, but I spared you and said, "I will not lay my hand on my lord because he is the LORD’s anointed."'

    10So I stood over him and killed him, because I knew he could not survive after he had fallen. I took the crown that was on his head and the bracelet that was on his arm, and I have brought them here to my lord.

    11Then David took hold of his clothes and tore them, and all the men who were with him did the same.

    22David answered and said, "Here is the king's spear. Let one of the young men come over and take it.

    1After the death of Saul, David returned from defeating the Amalekites and stayed in Ziklag for two days.

    2On the third day, a man came from Saul’s camp with his clothes torn and dirt on his head. When he arrived before David, he fell to the ground and showed respect.
