    21For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: How much worse will it be when I send my four dreadful judgments—sword, famine, wild beasts, and plague—against Jerusalem, to cut off both man and beast from it!

    22Yet, behold, there will be survivors, some sons and daughters brought out. They will come to you, and you will see their ways and their deeds. You will be comforted concerning the disaster I have brought upon Jerusalem, all I have brought upon it.

    23You will find consolation when you see their conduct and actions, and you will know that I have not done anything without cause that I have done in it, declares the Sovereign LORD.

    3For this is what the LORD says about the sons and daughters born in this place, as well as their mothers who bear them and their fathers who father them in this land:

    4They will die from deadly diseases. They will not be mourned or buried but will lie like dung on the ground. They will perish by the sword and famine, and their corpses will be food for the birds of the sky and the beasts of the earth.

  • 16And the people to whom they are prophesying will be thrown into the streets of Jerusalem because of famine and sword. There will be no one to bury them—them, their wives, their sons, or their daughters. I will pour out their wickedness upon them.
