13Israel said to Joseph, "Aren’t your brothers shepherding the flock at Shechem? Go, and I will send you to them." Joseph replied, "Here I am."
13And they said, 'Your servants are twelve brothers, the sons of one man in the land of Canaan. The youngest is now with our father, and one is no longer alive.'
14But Joseph said to them, 'It is just as I said: You are spies!
15Joseph asked them, "What is this deed you have done? Do you not know that a man like me can certainly practice divination?"
36Their father Jacob said to them, 'You have deprived me of my children! Joseph is gone; Simeon is gone; and now you want to take Benjamin. Everything is against me!'
31But they replied, "Should he treat our sister like a prostitute?"
27Come, let’s sell him to the Ishmaelites and not lay our hands on him. After all, he is our brother, our own flesh." His brothers agreed.
4But Jacob did not send Benjamin, Joseph's brother, with his other brothers, for he said, 'Something bad might happen to him.'
16He replied, "I am looking for my brothers. Please tell me where they are shepherding."
34For how can I go back to my father if the boy is not with me? I could not bear to see the misery that would come upon my father.
