26 I will hand them over to those who want to take their lives, to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and his servants. But afterward, Egypt will be inhabited again as in ancient days,' declares the Lord.
1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord when Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, and all his army, along with all the kingdoms under his dominion and all the peoples, were fighting against Jerusalem and all of its cities, saying:
2 Inquire, please, of the LORD on our behalf, since Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon is fighting against us. Perhaps the LORD will deal with us according to all His wonderful works, so that he may withdraw from us.

6 I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria, and I will defend this city.
3 This is what the LORD says: This city will surely be handed over to the army of the king of Babylon, and he will capture it.
