30 Then he said, I have sinned: yet honor me now, I pray you, before the elders of my people, and before Israel, and turn again with me, that I may worship the LORD your God.
31 So Samuel turned again after Saul; and Saul worshipped the LORD.
15 And Samuel said to Saul, Why have you disturbed me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am in great distress; for the Philistines make war against me, and God has departed from me and does not answer me anymore, neither by prophets nor by dreams. Therefore I have called you, that you may make known to me what I shall do.
16 Then Samuel said, Why do you ask me, seeing the LORD has departed from you and has become your enemy?
17 The LORD has done to you as he spoke by me: for the LORD has torn the kingdom out of your hand and given it to your neighbor, to David.
11 And Samuel said, What have you done? And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that you did not come within the appointed days, and that the Philistines gathered at Michmash,
12 Therefore I said, The Philistines will come down now upon me to Gilgal, and I have not sought the favor of the LORD; I forced myself therefore, and offered a burnt offering.
13 And Samuel said to Saul, You have done foolishly; you have not kept the commandment of the LORD your God, which he commanded you: for now the LORD would have established your kingdom upon Israel forever.
14 But now your kingdom shall not continue: the LORD has sought for Himself a man after His own heart, and the LORD has appointed him to be captain over His people, because you have not kept what the LORD commanded you.
15 Then Samuel arose and went up from Gilgal to Gibeah of Benjamin. And Saul numbered the people that were present with him, about six hundred men.

5 And behold, Saul came after the herd out of the field, and Saul said, "What troubles the people, that they weep?" And they told him the news of the men of Jabesh.
14 And he did not inquire of the LORD. Therefore He killed him and turned the kingdom to David the son of Jesse.
21 Then Saul said, "I have sinned. Return, my son David, for I will harm you no more because my life was precious in your eyes this day. Behold, I have played the fool and have erred exceedingly."
10 And Samuel told all the words of the LORD to the people who asked of him a king.
37 Saul inquired of God, "Shall I go down after the Philistines? Will You deliver them into the hand of Israel?" But He did not answer him that day.
