8Therefore, though I might be very bold in Christ to command you to do what is fitting,

6Nor did we seek glory from men, neither from you nor from others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.
11Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I hope are well known also in your consciences.
20Brethren, do not be children in understanding; however, in malice be infants, but in understanding be mature.
11But I make known to you, brothers, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man.
18For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ has not accomplished through me, in making the Gentiles obedient by word and deed,
4That I may make it clear, as I ought to speak.
6But I trust that you shall know that we are not reprobates.
6And these things, brothers, I have applied to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that you may learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, so that none of you be puffed up for one against another.
15Nevertheless, brethren, I have written to you more boldly in part, to remind you, because of the grace given to me by God,
13You know that because of physical infirmity I preached the gospel to you at the first.
13Now I would not have you ignorant, brothers, that I often planned to come to you, (but was hindered until now,) that I might have some fruit among you also, just as among other Gentiles.
7Therefore, as you abound in everything, in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all diligence, and in your love for us, see that you abound in this grace also.
8I speak not by commandment, but as a test of the sincerity of your love by the diligence of others.
7For you yourselves know how you ought to follow us, for we did not behave disorderly among you.
9For to this end I also wrote, that I might test you and know whether you are obedient in all things.

12Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
11Let such a person consider this, that as we are in word by letters when we are absent, such will we be also in deed when we are present.
16But be it so, I did not burden you; nevertheless, being crafty, I caught you with guile.
8For from you the word of the Lord has sounded forth, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith toward God has gone out, so that we do not need to say anything.
2If I am not an apostle to others, yet certainly I am to you: for you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord.
13For in what way were you inferior to other churches, except that I myself was not burdensome to you? Forgive me this wrong.
1And I, brothers, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom, declaring to you the testimony of God.
3Since you seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, who toward you is not weak, but is mighty in you.
2But I plead with you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence by which I think to be bold against some who think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.
