And, behold, the word of the LORD came to him, saying, This shall not be your heir; but he that shall come forth out of your own body shall be your heir.

13And He said to Abram, Know certainly that your offspring shall be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
12And when your days are fulfilled, and you shall rest with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, which shall come out of your own body, and I will establish his kingdom.
16And said, By myself I have sworn, says the LORD, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son:
17That in blessing I will bless you, and in multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heavens, and as the sand which is upon the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies;
18And in your descendants shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because you have obeyed my voice.
1Now the LORD had said to Abram, Get yourself out of your country, and from your kindred, and from your father's house, to a land that I will show you:
11And God said to him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be from you, and kings shall come from your body;
15For all the land which you see, to you will I give it, and to your descendants forever.
3And said to him, Get out of your country, and from your kindred, and come into the land which I will show you.
4Then he came out of the land of the Chaldeans, and lived in Haran; and from there, when his father was dead, he moved him into this land, where you now dwell.
5And He gave him no inheritance in it, not even enough to set his foot on; yet he promised that He would give it to him for a possession, and to his descendants after him, when as yet he had no child.
9And God said to Abraham, You shall keep my covenant therefore, you and your descendants after you in their generations.
18Since Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?
19For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he has spoken of him.
21But my covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this set time next year.
4And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give to your descendants all these countries; and in your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;
15And God said to Abraham, As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.
16And I will bless her and give you a son also by her; yes, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall come from her.
7And the LORD appeared to Abram, and said, To your descendants will I give this land: and there he built an altar to the LORD, who appeared to him.
36And Sarah, my master's wife, bore a son to my master when she was old; and to him he has given all that he has.
10And the angel of the LORD said to her, I will multiply your descendants exceedingly, so that they shall not be counted for multitude.
10Therefore she said to Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son, for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.
23But he who was of the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, but he of the freewoman was through promise.
14And your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in you and in your descendants shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
30Nevertheless what does the Scripture say? 'Cast out the bondwoman and her son, for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.'
23And the LORD said to her, Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples shall be separated from your body; and one people shall be stronger than the other, and the older shall serve the younger.
