29Why do you scorn my sacrifice and my offering, which I have commanded in my habitation; and honor your sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the best of all the offerings of Israel my people?
30Therefore the LORD God of Israel says, I did indeed say that your house, and the house of your father, should walk before me forever: but now the LORD says, Be it far from me; for those who honor me I will honor, and those who despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

16But you turned and polluted my name, and caused every man his servant, and every man his handmaid, whom you had set at liberty at their pleasure, to return and brought them into subjection, to be your servants and your handmaids.
8Therefore, the wrath of the LORD was upon Judah and Jerusalem, and He has delivered them to trouble, to astonishment, and to hissing, as you see with your eyes.
1Listen to this, O priests; and pay attention, O house of Israel; and give ear, O house of the king; for judgment is toward you, because you have been a snare at Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.
6But you have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and haul you into the courts?
