  • Heb 12:18-21 : 18 For you have not come to a mountain that can be touched, that is burning with fire, to darkness, gloom, and a storm, 19 to a trumpet blast or a voice speaking words that those who heard it begged that no further word be spoken to them, 20 because they could not bear what was commanded: "If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned to death." 21 The sight was so terrifying that Moses said, "I am trembling with fear."
  • Rom 3:21-22 : 21 But now, apart from the law, the righteousness of God has been revealed, testified to by the Law and the Prophets. 22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no distinction,
  • Rom 4:11 : 11 And he received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. So that he might be the father of all who believe without being circumcised, so that righteousness might also be credited to them,
  • Rom 5:15-21 : 15 But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died because of the trespass of one man, how much more has the grace of God and the gift that comes by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflowed to many. 16 And the gift is not like the result of the one man’s sin. For judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the free gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. 17 For if, by the trespass of one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ. 18 So then, just as through one trespass condemnation came to all people, so also through one act of righteousness justification that brings life came to all people. 19 For just as through the disobedience of one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of one man the many will be made righteous. 20 Now the law was brought in so that the trespass might increase; but where sin increased, grace increased all the more. 21 So that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
  • Rom 8:3-4 : 3 For what the law could not do, weakened as it was by the flesh, God did. By sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as a sin offering, He condemned sin in the flesh. 4 This was so that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
  • Rom 10:3-9 : 3 For they are ignorant of the righteousness of God and seek to establish their own; they have not submitted to God’s righteousness. 4 For Christ is the fulfillment of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. 5 For Moses writes about the righteousness that is based on the law: “The person who does these things will live by them.” 6 But the righteousness that is based on faith speaks as follows: “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 or, “‘Who will descend into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the message of faith that we proclaim): 9 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses unto salvation.

Whoever touches the mountain must surely be put to death. 13 No hand is to touch it; anyone who touches it must be stoned or shot with arrows. Whether animal or human, they must not be allowed to live.' Only when the ram’s horn sounds a long blast may they go up the mountain. 14 Moses went down from the mountain to the people, consecrated them, and they washed their garments. 15 He said to the people, 'Be ready by the third day; do not go near a woman.' 16 On the morning of the third day, there was thunder and lightning, a thick cloud on the mountain, and a very loud trumpet sound, so that all the people in the camp trembled. 17 Then Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain. 18 Mount Sinai was completely enveloped in smoke because the LORD had descended on it in fire. Its smoke went up like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain shook violently. 19 As the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him in the thunder.
  • Exod 20:18-19 : 18 When all the people saw the thunder and the lightning flashes, and heard the sound of the trumpet, and saw the mountain in smoke, they trembled with fear and stood at a distance. 19 They said to Moses, 'Speak to us yourself, and we will listen. But do not let God speak to us, or we will die.'
