    13As it is written in the Law of Moses, all this disaster has come upon us, yet we have not sought the favor of the LORD our God by turning from our sins and gaining insight into Your truth.

    14Therefore, the LORD has kept the disaster in store and brought it upon us, for the LORD our God is righteous in everything He does, yet we have not obeyed His voice.

    15Now, O Lord our God, who brought Your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand and made a name for Yourself that endures to this day, we have sinned and acted wickedly.

    34Our kings, leaders, priests, and ancestors did not obey Your law or pay attention to Your commandments and warnings You gave them.

    35Even while they were in their kingdom, enjoying Your abundant goodness and the spacious, fertile land You gave them, they did not serve You or turn from their evil deeds.

  • 6So the king summoned Jehoiada, the chief priest, and said to him, "Why have you not required the Levites to bring in from Judah and Jerusalem the tax imposed by Moses, the servant of the Lord, and the congregation of Israel for the tent of the testimony?"

  • 13Now, because you have done all these things, declares the LORD, and though I spoke to you persistently, you did not listen, and though I called you, you did not answer,

  • 42We have transgressed and rebelled, and You have not forgiven.

  • 14shall we again break your commandments and intermarry with the peoples who commit these abominations? Would you not become so angry with us that you would destroy us completely, leaving no remnant or survivor?

  • 6let the priests receive it each from their acquaintances, and they shall use it to repair any damage found in the temple.'

  • 3And now the LORD has brought it about and done as He said. Because you sinned against the LORD and did not obey His voice, this has happened to you.

  • 21and he cried out to the man of God who had come from Judah, 'This is what the LORD says: Because you have defied the word of the LORD and have not kept the command the LORD your God gave you,

  • 21"Go and inquire of the LORD for me and for those remaining in Israel and Judah about the words of this scroll that has been found. For great is the LORD's wrath that is poured out on us because our ancestors did not obey the words of the LORD by following everything written in this scroll."

  • 9Watch to see: if it goes up along the road to its own territory, toward Beth Shemesh, then it is the LORD who has brought this great disaster upon us. But if it does not, then we will know it was not his hand that struck us; it happened by chance.

  • 13But there are many people here, and it is the rainy season, so we cannot stand outside. This matter cannot be resolved in a day or two because we have sinned greatly in this matter.
