6You have planted much but harvested little. You eat but are never satisfied. You drink but never have enough to be filled. You put on clothes but are not warm. The one who earns wages earns them to put into a bag with holes.
7This is what the LORD of Hosts says: Consider carefully your ways.

13So the LORD will cut off from Israel both head and tail, both palm branch and reed in a single day.

8Be warned, Jerusalem, or I will become alienated from you and make you a desolation, a land uninhabited.

9So the king of Israel set out, along with the king of Judah and the king of Edom. After traveling a roundabout route for seven days, there was no water for the army or the animals with them.
17'For I was commanded by the word of the LORD: You must not eat bread or drink water there, nor return by the way you went.'
19Therefore this is what the LORD says: 'If you return, then I will restore you; you will stand before Me. If you extract the precious from the worthless, you will be My spokesman. They must turn to you, but you must not turn to them.'
