Son of man, say to the house of Israel, 'This is what you are saying: Our offenses and sins weigh us down, and we are wasting away because of them. How then can we live?'

12Therefore, son of man, say to your people, 'The righteousness of the righteous person will not save them on the day of their transgression, nor will the wickedness of the wicked person cause them to fall on the day they turn from their wickedness. The righteous person cannot live by their righteousness on the day they sin.'
13If I say to the righteous person, 'You will surely live,' but they trust in their righteousness and commit iniquity, none of their righteous acts will be remembered. They will die because of the iniquity they have committed.
14And if I say to the wicked person, 'You will surely die,' but they turn from their sin and do what is just and right—
15if they return what they took in pledge for a loan, restore anything they have stolen, and follow the decrees that give life, doing no wrong—they will surely live; they will not die.
11Then He said to me, 'Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They say, “Our bones are dried up, our hope is gone, and we are cut off.”'
7Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel. So hear the word I speak and give them warning from me.
8When I say to the wicked, ‘You wicked person, you will surely die,’ and you do not speak out to dissuade them from their ways, that wicked person will die for their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood.
9But if you do warn the wicked person to turn from their ways and they do not do so, they will die for their sin, but you will have saved yourself.
17"Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from My mouth, give them warning from Me.
18If I say to a wicked person, 'You will surely die,' and you do not warn him or speak out to warn him to turn from his wicked ways to save his life, that wicked person will die in his sin, but I will hold you accountable for his blood.
19But if you warn the wicked person and he does not turn from his wickedness or his wicked way, he will die in his sin, but you will have saved yourself.
20Again, if a righteous person turns from his righteousness and does wrong, and I put a stumbling block before him, he will die. Since you did not warn him, he will die in his sin. His righteous acts will not be remembered, and I will hold you accountable for his blood.
21But if you warn a righteous person not to sin and he does not sin, he will surely live because he heeded the warning, and you will have saved yourself.
9Son of man, has not the house of Israel, that rebellious house, asked you, ‘What are you doing?’
10Say to them, ‘This is what the Lord GOD says: This oracle concerns the prince in Jerusalem and all the house of Israel who are in the city.’
19Yet you ask, ‘Why does the son not bear the guilt of his father?’ Since the son has done what is just and right, has carefully observed all my statutes, and has kept them, he will surely live.
20The soul who sins will die. The son will not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous will be credited to them, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against them.
21But if the wicked turn from all their sins that they have committed, keep all my statutes, and do what is just and right, they will live; they will not die.
22None of the offenses they have committed will be remembered against them. Because of the righteousness they have practiced, they will live.
23Do I take pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign Lord. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?
24But if a righteous person turns away from their righteousness and commits sin, doing the same detestable things the wicked do, will they live? None of the righteous deeds they have done will be remembered. Because of the unfaithfulness they are guilty of and because of the sins they have committed, they will die.
4Therefore prophesy against them; prophesy, son of man!

19But if a wicked person turns away from their wickedness and does what is just and right, they will live because of it.
20Yet you say, 'The way of the Lord is not just.' But I will judge each of you according to your own ways, house of Israel.
10Son of man, explain the temple to the house of Israel, so that they will be ashamed of their sins. Let them measure the plan.
3Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel and say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Are you coming to inquire of me? As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I will not let you inquire of me.'
6And say to the rebellious house of Israel, 'This is what the Lord GOD says: Enough of all your abominations, O house of Israel!'
2Son of man, speak to the people of your nation and say to them, 'When I bring a sword against a land, and the people of the land choose one man from among them and make him their watchman,'
3As I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, you will no longer use this proverb in Israel.
32I am not doing this for your sake, declares the Lord GOD. Be ashamed and humiliated for your conduct, O house of Israel!
12The word of the LORD came to me, saying:
25Therefore, say to them, 'This is what the Lord GOD says: You eat meat with the blood still in it, you look to your idols, and you shed blood. Should you then possess the land?'
5I assign you the years of their iniquity as the number of days—three hundred ninety days—during which you will bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.
