  • 23Let us hold firmly to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

  • 7Render to all what is due them: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs are due, respect to whom respect is due, and honor to whom honor is due.

  • 28Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, among whom the Holy Spirit has appointed you as overseers, to shepherd the church of God, which He purchased with His own blood.

  • 14For you, brothers and sisters, became imitators of the churches of God in Christ Jesus that are in Judea, because you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen as they did from the Jews.

  • 5Slaves, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, with sincerity of heart, as you would Christ.

  • 14Keep reminding them of these things, and solemnly warn them before God not to quarrel about words. Such arguments are useless and lead to the ruin of those who listen.

  • 35So do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.

  • 17Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.

  • 2What you have heard from me through many witnesses, entrust to faithful people who will be able to teach others also.

  • 16Therefore, I urge you to imitate me.

  • 5And you have forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons: "My son, do not take lightly the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when you are reproved by Him."

  • 15And his affection for you is all the greater when he remembers your obedience, how you received him with fear and trembling.
