3 Dear friends, although I was eager to write to you about our common salvation, I felt it necessary instead to write and urge you to contend earnestly for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.
4 For certain people have secretly slipped in among you—those who were written about long ago as being destined for this condemnation. They are ungodly, turning the grace of our God into a license for immorality and denying our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

9 But we are confident of better things concerning you, dear friends—things that accompany salvation—even though we speak in this way.
17 Join together in imitating me, brothers and sisters, and keep your eyes on those who live as we do, as they are an example for you.
14 Keep reminding them of these things, and solemnly warn them before God not to quarrel about words. Such arguments are useless and lead to the ruin of those who listen.
6 If you point these things out to the brothers and sisters, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, nourished by the words of faith and the good teaching that you have followed.
14 Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these things, make every effort to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless.
15 And consider the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given to him.

15 So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold on to the traditions you were taught, either by what we said or by our letter.
5 Beloved, you are acting faithfully in whatever you do for the brothers, especially when they are strangers.
4 They are surprised that you do not join them in their reckless, wild living, and they heap abuse on you.
8 Watch yourselves, so that you do not lose what we have worked for, but may receive a full reward.
1 But know this: In the last days, difficult times will come.
17 Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them.
19 Again, do you think that we are defending ourselves to you? We are speaking before God in Christ, and all these things, beloved, are for your edification.

19 My beloved brothers and sisters, let every person be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger.
