17But we, brothers and sisters, being separated from you for a short time—in person, not in heart—made every effort, with great longing, to see you face to face.
15For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.
16For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
17After that, we who are alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord.
18Therefore, encourage one another with these words.
12So that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
1Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need for anything to be written to you.
2For you yourselves know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

5Because our gospel came to you not only in words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit, and with deep conviction. As you know, we lived among you for your sake.
1Beloved, this is now the second letter I am writing to you, in which I am stirring up your sincere mind by way of reminder,
2to remember the words that were spoken beforehand by the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior communicated through your apostles.
16For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty.
25not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
15With this confidence, I planned to visit you first so that you might benefit twice.
17But you, beloved, remember the words that were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ.
30Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God for me.
10And to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.
5Now may the Lord direct your hearts toward the love of God and the endurance of Christ.
6Now we command you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to keep away from every brother or sister who is idle and does not live according to the tradition they received from us.
19I urge you all the more earnestly to do this so that I may be restored to you more quickly.

12Now we ask you, brothers, to recognize those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord, and who instruct you.

1As workers together with Him, we also urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain.
6But now Timothy has come to us from you and has brought us good news about your faith and love, and that you always have good remembrance of us, longing to see us, just as we also long to see you.
7For this reason, brothers, in all our distress and affliction, we were comforted about you through your faith.
4But you, brothers, are not in darkness, so that this day should surprise you like a thief.
7and to give relief to you who are troubled, along with us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his powerful angels.
