    16As he does in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. In them, there are some things that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.

    17Therefore, beloved, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of lawless people and fall from your own steadfastness.

    18But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

    13Therefore, prepare your minds for action, be sober-minded, and set your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

  • 5Because our gospel came to you not only in words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit, and with deep conviction. As you know, we lived among you for your sake.

  • 2I have said before, and I am saying again now as though present, even though I am absent, to those who have sinned previously and to all the rest: If I come again, I will not spare anyone.

  • 4For indeed, when we were with you, we kept telling you in advance that we would suffer tribulation, just as it happened, and as you know.

  • 17Join together in imitating me, brothers and sisters, and keep your eyes on those who live as we do, as they are an example for you.

  • 2I praise you, brothers and sisters, because you remember me in everything and hold fast to the traditions just as I delivered them to you.
