  • 18When such a person hears the words of this curse, they may bless themselves in their heart and say, 'I will have peace, even though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart.' This will lead to the destruction of both the well-watered and the dry.

  • 7then I will cut off Israel from the land I have given them, and I will reject this temple I have consecrated for My name. Israel will then become a proverb and an object of ridicule among all peoples.

  • 13For my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and they have dug their own cisterns—broken cisterns that cannot hold water.

  • 10This is what the LORD says about this people: They love to wander; they do not restrain their feet. So the LORD does not accept them; now He will remember their guilt and punish their sins.

  • 7In this place, I will ruin the plans of Judah and Jerusalem. I will make them fall by the sword before their enemies and at the hands of those who seek their lives. I will give their dead bodies as food to the birds of the sky and the wild animals of the earth.

  • 19Must My flock feed on what you have trampled and drink what you have muddied with your feet?

  • 14You will eat but not be satisfied, and your emptiness will remain within you. You will store up but not save, and what you do save, I will give over to the sword.

  • 17'In this way, they will lack bread and water, and they will be appalled at one another and waste away because of their iniquity.'

  • 12Even if they fast, I will not listen to their cry; even if they offer burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them. Instead, I will consume them by sword, famine, and plague.

  • 16I, in turn, will do this to you: I will bring sudden terror upon you, wasting diseases and fever that destroy your eyes and drain your strength. You will plant your seed in vain, for your enemies will eat it.

  • 36Now therefore, this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says concerning this city about which you are saying, 'It has been handed over to the king of Babylon through sword, famine, and plague':

  • 3Death will be preferred to life by all the survivors who remain from this evil family, in all the places where I have driven them, declares the LORD of Hosts.
