9And the people will answer, 'Because they abandoned the LORD their God, who brought their ancestors out of Egypt, and they embraced other gods, worshiped them, and served them. That is why the LORD brought all this disaster on them.'
34To this day they continue to practice their former customs. They neither fear the Lord nor follow the statutes, ordinances, laws, and commandments that the Lord gave the descendants of Jacob, whom He named Israel.
19But when the judge died, they returned to ways even more corrupt than those of their ancestors, following other gods, serving them, and bowing down to them. They refused to give up their evil practices and stubborn ways.
