26I defiled them through their own gifts, by making them cause all their firstborn to pass through the fire, in order to devastate them and make them know that I am the LORD.
27Therefore, speak to the house of Israel, son of man, and say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Yet in this, your fathers blasphemed me by acting treacherously against me.'
13But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness. They did not follow my statutes and rejected my ordinances—though by them a person will live if they do them—and they greatly profaned my Sabbaths. So I said I would pour out my wrath on them in the wilderness to destroy them.
14But I acted for the sake of my name, to keep it from being profaned in the eyes of the nations in whose sight I had brought them out.
15Also, I swore to them in the wilderness that I would not bring them into the land I had given them—a land flowing with milk and honey, the most beautiful of all lands—
16because they rejected my ordinances, did not walk in my statutes, and profaned my Sabbaths, for their hearts followed after their idols.
17Yet my eye spared them from destruction, and I did not destroy them completely in the wilderness.
7And I said to them, 'Each of you, get rid of the detestable things your eyes are set on, and do not defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt. I am the LORD your God.'
8But they rebelled against me and would not listen to me; none of them got rid of the detestable things their eyes were set on, nor did they forsake the idols of Egypt. So I said I would pour out my wrath on them and unleash my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.
23Do not follow the customs of the nations that I am driving out before you. Because they did all these things, I abhorred them.
2Speak to the Israelites and tell them: 'I am the LORD your God.'
3You must not behave like the people of Egypt, where you used to live, or like the people of Canaan, where I am bringing you. You must not follow their practices.
4You must obey my laws and carefully keep my decrees. Live by them. I am the LORD your God.

18This is so they do not teach you to follow all the detestable practices they have done for their gods, causing you to sin against the LORD your God.
30Therefore, say to the house of Israel: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Will you defile yourselves the way your fathers did and lust after their detestable things?'
31When you offer your gifts and make your children pass through the fire, you defile yourselves with all your idols to this day. Shall I let you inquire of me, house of Israel? As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I will not let you inquire of me.
32What you have in mind will never happen. You say, 'We will be like the nations, like the peoples of the world, who serve wood and stone.'
30So keep my charge not to practice any of the abominable customs that were done before you, so you do not defile yourselves by them. I am the LORD your God.
11Then you are to answer them: 'It is because your ancestors abandoned Me,' declares the LORD, 'and followed other gods, served them, and worshiped them. But they abandoned Me and did not keep My law.
12And you have behaved even more wickedly than your ancestors, each one following the stubbornness of their own evil heart instead of listening to Me.
15They despised His statutes, His covenant that He made with their fathers, and His warnings He gave them. They followed worthless idols and became worthless themselves. They imitated the nations around them, though the Lord had commanded them not to do so.
8They followed the practices of the nations whom the Lord had driven out before the Israelites, as well as the practices of the kings of Israel that they themselves had introduced.
8Keep my statutes and do them. I am the LORD who sanctifies you.
12Then you will know that I am the Lord, for you have not followed My statutes or kept My judgments, but instead you have conformed to the judgments of the nations around you.

7Do not be like your ancestors and your brothers, who were unfaithful to the LORD, the God of their ancestors, so that He made them an object of horror, as you can see.
5This is what the LORD says: ‘What fault did your ancestors find in me that they strayed so far from me? They pursued worthless idols and became worthless themselves.
39As for you, house of Israel, this is what the Sovereign LORD says: Go and serve your idols, every one of you! But afterward, you will surely listen to me and no longer profane my holy name with your gifts and idols.
33Your children will be shepherds in the wilderness for forty years, bearing the consequences of your unfaithfulness, until your corpses are consumed in the wilderness.
4Will you judge them, will you judge them, son of man? Let them know about the detestable practices of their ancestors.
13Instead, they followed the stubbornness of their hearts and went after the Baals, as their fathers taught them.
14Therefore, this is what the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: 'See, I will feed this people with bitter food and give them poisoned water to drink.'
20Then they will follow My statutes, keep My judgments, and carry them out. They will be My people, and I will be their God.
22For when I brought your ancestors out of the land of Egypt, I did not speak to them or command them concerning burnt offerings and sacrifices.
19But even Judah did not keep the commandments of the Lord their God. They followed the practices of Israel as the Israelites had done.
24Do not defile yourselves by any of these practices, for the nations I am driving out before you have defiled themselves by all these things.
10So I brought them out of the land of Egypt and led them into the wilderness.
17Yet they did not listen to their judges but prostituted themselves by worshiping other gods. They turned quickly from the way their ancestors had walked in obedience to the LORD’s commandments. They did not do as their ancestors had done.
1Do not make idols for yourselves, or set up a carved image or a sacred pillar for yourselves, and do not place a figured stone in your land to bow down to it, for I am the LORD your God.
6'But if you or your descendants turn away from Me and do not keep My commands and statutes that I have given you, and you go and serve other gods and bow down to them,
30Observe my Sabbaths and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am the LORD.
8They would not be like their ancestors—a stubborn and rebellious generation, whose hearts were not loyal, whose spirits were not faithful to God.
