  • 8 Therefore, wait for me, declares the LORD, until the day I rise to testify. For my decision is to gather nations, to assemble kingdoms, to pour out upon them my indignation—all the burning heat of my anger. For in the fire of my jealousy, all the earth shall be consumed.

  • 21 Therefore, this is what the Lord says: 'I am placing stumbling blocks before this people. Fathers and sons alike will stumble over them; neighbors and friends will perish.'

  • 8 Therefore, the wrath of the LORD fell upon Judah and Jerusalem, and He made them an object of horror, devastation, and scorn, as you can see with your own eyes.

  • 11 They dress the wound of my people as though it were not serious. ‘Peace, peace,’ they say, when there is no peace.

  • 6 Because of the oppression of the poor and the groaning of the needy, 'Now I will arise,' says the LORD; 'I will place them in the safety they long for.'

  • 4 Therefore I said, 'Turn away from me, let me weep bitterly. Do not try to comfort me concerning the destruction of my people.'

  • 17 You are to speak this word to them: 'Let my eyes flow with tears night and day without ceasing, for the virgin daughter of my people has suffered a great shattering—a crushing blow, a grievous wound.'

  • 19 Listen to the cry of my people from a land far away: 'Is the LORD not in Zion? Is her King no longer there?' Why have they provoked me to anger with their idols, with their worthless foreign gods?
