I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus; You have chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bull not accustomed to the yoke: turn me, and I shall be turned; for you are the LORD my God.

1O Israel, return to the LORD your God; for you have fallen by your iniquity.
2Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say to him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so we will offer the sacrifice of our lips.
21A voice was heard upon the high places, weeping and supplications of the children of Israel: for they have perverted their way, and they have forgotten the LORD their God.
22Return, you backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come to you; for you are the LORD our God.
3I also taught Ephraim to walk, taking them by their arms; but they did not know that I healed them.
4I drew them with gentle cords, with bands of love, and I was to them as those who take off the yoke from their jaws, and I provided food for them.
21Turn us back to You, O LORD, and we shall be restored; renew our days as of old.
31Surely it is proper to say to God, I have borne chastisement, I will not offend anymore;
1Come, and let us return to the LORD: for he has torn, and he will heal us; he has struck us, and he will bind us up.

41And that I also have walked contrary to them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept the punishment of their iniquity:
19Therefore thus says the LORD, If you return, then I will bring you again, and you shall stand before me: and if you take forth the precious from the vile, you shall be as my mouth: let them return to you; but return not you to them.
3Therefore say to them, Thus says the LORD of hosts: Turn to Me, says the LORD of hosts, and I will turn to you, says the LORD of hosts.
17And there is hope in your future, says the LORD, that your children shall come again to their own border.
28Because your rage against me and your tumult have come up into my ears, therefore I will put my hook in your nose, and my bridle in your lips, and I will turn you back by the way by which you came.
18I have seen his ways and will heal him; I will lead him also and restore comforts to him and to his mourners.
14Turn, O backsliding children, says the LORD; for I am married to you: and I will take you, one from a city, and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion:
16For Israel is stubborn like a stubborn calf: now the LORD will feed them as a lamb in a large space.
4I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for my anger is turned away from him.
6Turn to Him from whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted.
5You shall also consider in your heart, that, as a man disciplines his son, so the LORD your God disciplines you.
21I spoke to you in your prosperity; but you said, I will not hear. This has been your manner from your youth, that you obeyed not my voice.
9For if you turn again to the LORD, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before those that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away His face from you, if you return to Him.
15I will go and return to my place, until they acknowledge their offense, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me earnestly.
19But I said, How shall I put you among the children and give you a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of nations? And I said, You shall call me, My Father; and shall not turn away from me.
11For I am with you, says the LORD, to save you: though I make a full end of all nations where I have scattered you, yet I will not make a full end of you; but I will correct you in due measure, and will not leave you altogether unpunished.
6You have forsaken me, says the LORD, you have gone backward: therefore I will stretch out my hand against you, and destroy you; I am weary with repenting.
18The LORD has chastened me severely, but He has not given me over to death.
5And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to children, "My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by him:
13Therefore now amend your ways and your deeds, and obey the voice of the LORD your God; and the LORD will relent of the evil that he has pronounced against you.
12Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, backsliding Israel, says the LORD; and I will not cause my anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, says the LORD, and I will not keep anger forever.
11Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgment, because he willingly followed the commandment.
11My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD; nor be weary of his correction:
20Behold, O LORD; for I am in distress: my heart is troubled; my heart is turned within me; for I have grievously rebelled: abroad the sword bereaves, at home there is as death.
19And I will bring Israel again to his dwelling place, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied on Mount Ephraim and Gilead.
18Your way and your deeds have procured these things for you; this is your wickedness, because it is bitter, because it reaches to your heart.
15Why do you cry over your affliction? Your sorrow is incurable because of the multitude of your iniquity: because your sins have increased, I have done these things to you.
16Turn to me and have mercy on me, for I am desolate and afflicted.
