3You must not behave like the people of Egypt, where you used to live, or like the people of Canaan, where I am bringing you. You must not follow their practices.
5See, I have taught you statutes and judgments just as the LORD my God commanded me, so that you may act according to them in the land you are entering to possess.
43Do not rule over them harshly, but fear your God.
