2 So the people quarreled with Moses, saying, "Give us water to drink." Moses replied to them, "Why are you quarreling with me? Why are you testing the LORD?"
3 But the people were very thirsty for water there, and they complained against Moses, saying, "Why did you bring us out of Egypt to kill us, our children, and our livestock with thirst?"
20 True, He struck the rock, and water gushed out, and streams overflowed. But can He also give us bread or provide meat for His people?
8 "Take the staff, and you and your brother Aaron gather the assembly together. Speak to the rock in front of them, and it will yield its water. You will bring water out of the rock for the community and their livestock to drink."
19 Then we set out from Horeb and went through all that great and terrible wilderness, which you saw, on the way to the hill country of the Amorites, as the LORD our God commanded us. And we came to Kadesh-barnea.
19 You, in Your great mercy, did not abandon them in the wilderness. During the day, the pillar of cloud did not depart to guide them on their way, nor did the pillar of fire by night to give them light for the path they should take.
20 You gave Your good Spirit to instruct them. You did not withhold manna from their mouths, and You provided water for their thirst.
21 For forty years You sustained them in the wilderness; they lacked nothing. Their clothes did not wear out, and their feet did not swell.
7 Remember and do not forget how you provoked the LORD your God to anger in the wilderness. From the day you left the land of Egypt until you arrived at this place, you have been rebellious against the LORD.
8 Even at Horeb, you provoked the LORD to anger, and the LORD was angry enough with you to destroy you.
28 Otherwise, the land from which you brought us out will say, "The LORD was not able to bring them into the land he promised them, and because he hated them, he brought them out to kill them in the wilderness."
41 He opened the rock, and water gushed out; it flowed like a river in the desert.
7 The LORD your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast wilderness. These forty years the LORD your God has been with you, and you have lacked nothing.
5 You did not eat bread or drink wine or strong drink, so that you might know that I am the LORD your God.
17 Have you not brought this upon yourself by forsaking the LORD your God when he led you in the way?
8 So the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, with great terror, and with signs and wonders.

22 Then Moses led Israel from the Red Sea, and they went into the Desert of Shur. They traveled for three days in the desert without finding water.
11 You divided the sea before them, and they passed through it on dry ground. But You cast their pursuers into the depths like a stone into mighty waters.
12 By day, You led them with a pillar of cloud and by night with a pillar of fire, to give them light for the path they should follow.
10 He and Aaron gathered the assembly in front of the rock, and Moses said to them, "Listen now, you rebels! Must we bring water out of this rock for you?"
11 Then Moses raised his hand and struck the rock twice with his staff. Water came out abundantly, and the community and their livestock drank.
17 For the LORD our God is the one who brought us and our ancestors up out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. He performed great signs before our eyes, protected us along the entire way we traveled, and among all the peoples through whom we journeyed.
10 'It was I who brought you up from the land of Egypt and led you forty years in the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorites.'
9 A land where you will eat bread without scarcity—where you will lack nothing, a land whose stones are iron and from whose hills you can dig copper.
36 This is the one who led them out, performing wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, at the Red Sea, and in the wilderness for forty years.
4 Why have you brought the LORD's assembly into this wilderness, for us and our livestock to die here?
5 Why did you bring us up from Egypt to this terrible place? It has no grain, figs, vines, or pomegranates, and there is no water to drink!
25 Then Moses cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a piece of wood. He threw it into the water, and the water became sweet. There the LORD made a statute and an ordinance for them, and there He tested them.
9 where your ancestors tested and tried me, though for forty years they saw my works.
20 But the LORD has taken you and brought you out of the iron furnace, out of Egypt, to be a people of His inheritance, as you are today.
13 In Your steadfast love, You led the people You redeemed; in Your strength, You guided them to Your holy dwelling.
7 I removed the burden from his shoulder; his hands were freed from the basket.
